Campgrounds and RV parks near Selbyville, DE

Selbyville sits in the southeast corner of Delaware, minutes from the Fenwick Island line and roughly ten miles from the Ocean City, Maryland boardwalk. The town works well as an RV base for families splitting time between the Delaware and Maryland beaches, the Assawoman Bay, and inland attractions in Berlin and Bethany. RV options in the immediate area lean toward large private resorts rather than public campgrounds. Treasure Beach RV Park and Campground sits just inland of the Fenwick Island beaches and operates on a seasonal calendar, offering daily and seasonal RV sites alongside cabins. Sun Outdoors Ocean City Gateway, Sun Outdoors Frontier Town, Sun Outdoors Ocean City, and Leisure Point Resort round out the closest full-hookup properties, all clustered between Selbyville and West Ocean City. For a public-lands experience, most travelers cross into Maryland to Assateague State Park, the state's only oceanfront park, located on a barrier island with two miles of ocean beaches used for swimming, surfcasting, and sunbathing, or to the adjacent National Seashore campground managed by the National Park Service.

Public campgrounds and private resorts use different systems, and both fill early for summer weekends. Assateague State Park reservations are handled through Maryland Parks Reservations and can be made up to 365 days in advance. The National Seashore campground on the Maryland side is reserved through Recreation.gov, with advance reservations available up to 6 months ahead. For the private parks listed above, book directly through each operator, usually online. Peak Fenwick and Ocean City weekends, particularly around Memorial Day, July 4, and the White Marlin Open, often sell out months ahead. Booking a full week rather than a weekend can also improve availability at the Sun Outdoors properties and Leisure Point Resort. RV renters using third-party delivery services should confirm rules with each park before booking, as check-in windows, on-site vendor registration, and site-access requirements vary between the state park, the National Seashore, and the private resorts.
