Campgrounds and RV parks near Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

Aberdeen Proving Ground sits in Harford County on the upper Chesapeake Bay, roughly a half hour northeast of Baltimore off I-95. The surrounding area gives RV travelers direct access to waterfront parks along the Bush River, Susquehanna River, and Elk River, plus a handful of private campgrounds within a short drive. The closest full-hookup option is Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina in nearby Abingdon, a family-owned waterfront park on the Bush River with 91 sites, pull-thru options, and RVs accommodated up to 45 feet. State-park camping is concentrated to the north and east: Susquehanna State Park near Havre de Grace and Elk Neck State Park on the peninsula between the Chesapeake Bay and the Elk River. Camp Ramblewood in Darlington and Duck Neck Campground across the bay round out the options. Most trips base out of one park and day-trip to the others, since driving times between them stay under an hour.

Maryland state parks use a single reservation system at parkreservations.maryland.gov, also reachable by phone at 1-888-432-2267. Sites at both Elk Neck State Park and Susquehanna State Park can be booked up to 365 days in advance, and popular summer weekends often fill soon after that window opens. When searching, filter by loop and hookup type. Elk Neck offers full-hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer in the lower-numbered sites, plus non-electric loops and cabins. Susquehanna has 69 sites across two loops with only six electric sites and six mini-cabins, so RV travelers needing power should book early. Private parks like Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina, Camp Ramblewood, and Duck Neck Campground are reserved directly through each property.
