Weekend programming includes bingo, hayrides, and cornhole tournaments.

Travelers heading north can also reach Codorus State Park in southern York County, Pennsylvania, along with private options such as Cherry Hill Park closer to Washington and Merry Meadows Recreation Farm in northern Baltimore County.
Most sites within about an hour of Eldersburg offer at least electric hookups, with full-hookup and pull-through sites concentrated at the private parks.
Things to do near Eldersburg
The Patapsco River corridor is the main draw for outdoor recreation close to Eldersburg. At Patapsco Valley State Park, visitors can hike, fish, canoe, ride horseback trails and mountain bike trails, and picnic in pavilions available for group rental. The park also includes a view of the historic Thomas Viaduct, a multiple-arched stone railroad bridge, in the Avalon Area.
A short drive north into Pennsylvania, the 3,500-acre Codorus State Park is in the rolling hills of southern York County, and the 1,275-acre Lake Marburg has 26 miles of shoreline, drawing boaters, warmwater anglers, swimmers, and disc golfers. Family campgrounds in the area add pools, mini golf, and organized weekend activities, which helps on rainy days or when kids need a break from driving.

Camping season around Eldersburg centers on spring through fall, with private parks generally open longer than the state facilities. Merry Meadows Recreation Farm operates year-round, with open sites offering scenic views alongside spacious wooded sites. Ramblin' Pines also runs across all four seasons, and October is especially active there with Halloween-themed programming every weekend that fills reservations quickly.
State park camping follows a shorter window. At Patapsco Valley, the Hollofield campground operates seasonally in the warmer months, with both electric and primitive sites. Travelers should confirm current status directly with the Maryland Park Service, as Hollofield has been affected by renovation closures in recent seasons.
Across the state line, Codorus State Park's campground operates from the second Friday in April through November 1st. Summer weekends and fall foliage weekends book earliest, so flexibility on arrival day helps when the calendar tightens.

Overall good time. Gray and black water were 2/3 full though and would have been nice to be empty. WiFi was ok in location but sometimes didn’t work. Maybe suspension does need a look over not horrible but slightly loose. Fresh water all the way full would be nice also. I tried to leave it cleaner than I got it as well for the delay on drop off but made sure to get here early this am.

We had such a fantastic time in this RV. It was in ideal size for our family of 5. We travelled from Maryland, through ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. It was nice to drive and didn't feel too big. Clean throughout and no major issues. The host was very helpful and responded super quick to queries. We hope to rent again in the future.

How to book campgrounds near Eldersburg
Public and private campgrounds in this area use different reservation systems, so plan accordingly. Reservations for the Hollofield campground are handled through the Maryland Park Service reservation system, which accepts bookings up to a year in advance for most Maryland state park sites.
For Codorus State Park in Pennsylvania, online reservations for day use and overnight facilities can also be made by calling toll-free 888-PA-PARKS (888-727-2757), from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday to Saturday. Reservations must be made 3 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 11 months in advance.
Private campgrounds handle their own bookings. Ramblin' Pines and Cherry Hill Park accept reservations through their websites, while Merry Meadows typically requires a phone call to the office to book.
What to expect at area campgrounds
Sites vary widely in character across the area. At Ramblin' Pines, the campground is forested and many sites have good tree cover and shade, though site density is worth knowing before booking, as sites in the RV section can sit close together.
RV height and access matter on state park roads. At Patapsco Valley, campers whose units exceed the posted height limits should use the designated Route 40 entrance rather than the lower park roads. The Codorus campground provides sites across multiple categories, including full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric, modern electric sites with 30 or 50-amp service, modern non-electric sites, and tent-only sites.
Expect wooded, rolling terrain across most campgrounds in the region, with pools, playgrounds, and dump stations at the family parks, and simpler picnic table and fire ring setups at the state sites.

Maryland gas prices generally sit just above the national average, with diesel a bit higher. For a weekend trip to Gettysburg and back (about 80 miles round trip), most renters spend $30 to $60 on fuel. A bigger loop down to Shenandoah and back might run $150 to $250. Most local roads handle big rigs without trouble, though you'll want to avoid the narrow Old Liberty Road shortcut and stick to main routes near Liberty Reservoir. Heading into DC or downtown Baltimore? Skip it: rent with delivery instead so you don't have to navigate the Beltway or low clearances in the Fort McHenry Tunnel (no propane allowed through that tunnel). Most rigs have air conditioning, propane heat, a TV, and seatbelts for every traveler (required for anyone riding while the RV is moving). Many hosts include a generator for off-grid power, and a growing number offer cellular Wi-Fi hotspots as an add-on. Pro tip: check the listing photos for outdoor amenities too, awnings, camp chairs, and outdoor kitchens are common extras that make Maryland's golden-hour evenings even better.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/seat-beltsWhat add-ons can I get, and how does pickup work for an Eldersburg RV rental?

Mileage policies vary by host: many include a set number of free miles per night with extra miles at a small per-mile fee, and some offer unlimited mileage upgrades. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Carroll County with a 60 to 90 minute walkthrough, or you can choose Delivery to your campground. Pro tip: bundle linens, a kitchen kit, and delivery on your first booking. It often costs less than buying gear, and it turns a campervan rental Eldersburg trip into something close to glamping.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Eldersburg%2C+MarylandHow does payment and the security deposit work on an Eldersburg RV rental?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit or debit card when you book, and your funds are processed through RVezy rather than going directly to the host. The security deposit is separate from your booking payment and is typically held as a pre-authorization on your card before pickup, not charged outright. As long as you return the RV in the agreed condition with tanks and fuel as outlined in your booking, the hold is released after your trip ends. Pro tip: take a quick walk-around video at pickup and dropoff. Time-stamped photos are the easiest way to keep your deposit return drama-free.
