Campgrounds near Fallston, Maryland
Fallston sits in Harford County between Baltimore and the head of Chesapeake Bay, putting RV travelers within a short drive of both waterfront parks along the Bush and Susquehanna rivers and quieter wooded campgrounds in the rolling farmland to the north. The area is easy to reach from I-95 and I-83, which makes it a practical base for trips to Baltimore, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, and southern Pennsylvania.
Options close to Fallston range from full-hookup private parks to a state park campground on the lower Susquehanna. Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina in nearby Abingdon offers waterfront full-hookup sites on the Bush River, and Susquehanna State Park north of Havre de Grace runs a two-loop campground with 69 sites managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Merry Meadows Recreation Farm sits in the rolling countryside of northern Baltimore County near Freeland, Camp Ramblewood is a private group-oriented property outside Darlington, and Olde Forge Campground lies just over the Pennsylvania line in southern Lancaster County.
Together these parks cover most trip styles: waterfront, state park, family resort, and rural retreat.
Things to do near Fallston
Water is the main draw. The Bush River and upper Chesapeake support fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and boat launching, and Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina has boat and kayak rentals, boat slips, a dedicated boat ramp, and an outdoor swimming pool. Susquehanna State Park offers boating, canoeing, and kayaking on the Susquehanna, with a canoe and kayak launch near the parking lot at the bottom of Lapidum Road, along with access to the Rock Run Historic Area.

Rocks State Park, managed together with Susquehanna, adds the King and Queen Seat rock outcropping for hiking. Baltimore's Inner Harbor sits roughly thirty minutes from the Bush River area, and York and Lancaster, Pennsylvania are within an hour.

The prime RV season around Fallston runs from late spring through mid-fall. The Susquehanna State Park campground operates from the first weekend in May through the last weekend in October, and reservations are highly recommended for weekend camping. Weekend sites at the state park fill quickly.
Summer brings warm, humid days and afternoon thunderstorms, with peak demand at both public and private parks. Weather-wise, early summer and early fall are the calmest and most pleasant; the area does not see a great deal of snow, but it gets a lot of rain, especially in the summer, and July and August are quite humid. Late spring and early fall generally offer easier availability, and fall foliage in the rolling hills north of Baltimore typically peaks in mid to late October.
Winter narrows the options. The state park campground closes at the end of October, while Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina operates year-round and Merry Meadows Recreation Farm is open all year, with cold-weather campers relying on full hookups and being ready for occasional snow and freezing temperatures.

How to book
Susquehanna State Park uses the Maryland state park reservation system; sites can be booked online or by phone at 1-888-432-2267. Unreserved sites roll to first-come, first-served with a reservation board posted at the campground entrance. Six mini-cabins are also reservable through the same system.
Private parks handle their own bookings. Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina takes reservations directly through its office and website for waterfront and off-waterfront full-hookup sites. Merry Meadows Recreation Farm accepts reservations in person, by phone, or online, requires one night's fee as a deposit for standard weekends, and requires payment in full at booking for three-day holiday weekends. Camp Ramblewood is a private group-rental property in Darlington, so availability and terms are arranged directly with the operator.
What to expect on site
Hookups vary widely. Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina offers 91 sites with full hookups (water, electric, sewer, and cable TV) for RVs up to 45 feet, with pull-through sites available. Susquehanna State Park contains two camping loops with 69 campsites, only six of which have electric hookups, and all camping loops have a comfort station with hot showers. The maximum length for RVs is 30 feet, and the campground has drinking water, flush toilets, showers, and a dump station.
Expect wooded, shaded sites at Susquehanna, Merry Meadows, and Olde Forge, and more open waterfront sites at Bar Harbor. Cell coverage and Wi-Fi are inconsistent at the more rural parks. Pets are generally welcome on leash, generators at Susquehanna are allowed from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and quiet hours are enforced at most parks.

The Maryland MVA only requires a non-commercial Class B license for motorhomes with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,000 pounds, and the vast majority of rentals on RVezy, including campervans, Class C motorhomes, and travel trailers, sit well under that threshold. Stick to right lanes on I-95, take turns wide, and use a spotter when backing in. Pro tip: ask your host to record a short video of the orientation on your phone so you can rewatch it at the campground.

Travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval and valid insurance coverage, so message the host before booking if that's your plan. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Fallston RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable in any RV budget, but it's easy to plan for. Maryland gas prices typically run a touch above the national average, with regular unleaded in Harford County hovering around $3.20 to $3.60 per gallon and diesel slightly higher. Expect 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG) for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, 18 to 22 MPG for a Class B campervan, and roughly the tow vehicle's MPG minus 30 percent when pulling a travel trailer. For a 300-mile weekend loop to Assateague and back, budget $90 to $130 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in Bel Air or Aberdeen before heading east, where prices tend to be a bit lower than at Ocean City stations.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Fallston?
Booking early is the move, especially for Maryland state parks. Reservations at Susquehanna State Park, Elk Neck State Park, and Rocks State Park open exactly one year in advance through the Maryland Park Service reservation system, and summer weekends from June through August often sell out within hours of opening. For private parks like Bar Harbor RV Park or Lake Aberdeen, three to four months ahead is usually safe. If you're booking last minute, midweek arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) almost always have openings. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for exactly 365 days before your target Saturday night, then log in right at 7 a.m. Eastern when the booking window opens.
parkreservations.maryland.gov/What are the driving conditions like around Fallston?
Driving an RV around Fallston is very manageable for newcomers. Route 1 (Belair Road) and Route 152 are the main arteries, both with wide lanes and gentle terrain. I-95 cuts just south of town and is your fastest route to Baltimore, Philadelphia, or D.C., though rush hour (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.) gets heavy near the Fort McHenry Tunnel, which has a 13'6" height limit (no issue for most RVs but worth confirming). Backroads toward Jarrettsville and Norrisville are scenic but winding, so take them slowly. Pro tip: avoid I-95 northbound on Friday afternoons in summer when shore traffic builds, and use Route 40 as a relaxed alternative.

Campgrounds around Fallston offer a great mix of comfort and nature. Maryland state parks like Susquehanna and Elk Neck typically provide electric hookups (30 or 50 amp), potable water spigots, dump stations, flush toilets, and hot showers, though full sewer hookups at the site are less common. Private parks like Bar Harbor RV Park & Marina offer full hookups, Wi-Fi, laundry, and waterfront access. Dump stations are available at most state parks for a small fee, and you can also top off fresh water before departure. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 30-amp to 50-amp adapter, since not every site matches your RV's setup, and a basic sewer kit makes dumping at the end of your trip a breeze.

Pickup and drop-off happen at the host's location unless you've added delivery. Mileage policies are listed up front, and most hosts allow 100 to 150 free miles per day with paid options for unlimited. consumer.ftc.gov/articles/buying-rvHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Fallston, MD, you pay through RVezy's protected checkout using a major credit or debit card, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment a few days before pickup and released back to you after drop-off, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid surprises, do a thorough walk-around with your host at pickup and drop-off, taking photos or video of any existing scratches. Pro tip: return the RV with a full fuel tank and empty waste tanks for a smooth, full deposit refund.
