Campgrounds near Grasonville
Grasonville sits on Maryland's Eastern Shore at Kent Narrows, just across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge from Annapolis on US-50. It works well as an RV base for exploring the mid-Bay: waterfront marinas, wildlife management areas, and the small towns of Kent Island, Chestertown, and Denton are all within a short drive.
Camping options split between waterfront private parks and inland state parks. Bay Shore Campground offers Chesapeake Bay frontage on the upper Eastern Shore, and Duck Neck Campground is a family park on the Chester River outside Chestertown with full hook-up RV sites. Inland, Tuckahoe State Park and Martinak State Park offer wooded, state-run campgrounds along creeks and rivers in Caroline County.
For group trips, Camp Todd on Lake Williston in Denton is a Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay property that also rents to non-Girl Scout groups. Together these five give RV travelers a mix of full-service private parks, quieter state park loops, and group-friendly retreats within about an hour of Grasonville.
Things to do near Grasonville
Water access defines most trips here. Martinak State Park sits at the junction of the Choptank River and Watts Creek, with shoreline fishing and boat access for perch, sunfish, bass, and catfish. Tuckahoe State Park stretches along Tuckahoe Creek and includes a 60-acre lake with a launch ramp for non-motorized boating and fishing.
On land, Tuckahoe offers roughly 20 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, plus a disc golf course, picnic areas, and playgrounds. The adjacent Adkins Arboretum occupies 400 acres and displays plants native to the Delmarva peninsula.
Bay Shore Campground provides direct Chesapeake Bay frontage with sunset views, and historic Chestertown along the Chester River offers walkable streets, waterfront dining, and access to nearby wildlife refuges for birding on the upper Eastern Shore.

Spring and fall are the strongest windows for RV travel on the Eastern Shore. Days warm quickly through April and May, biting insects are lighter than in high summer, and state park loops still have open sites midweek. Migratory waterfowl move through the Chester and Choptank drainages in spring and again from October into November, making it a productive stretch for birding and fishing.
Summer is peak season. Weekends fill fast at both private waterfront parks and the state park loops, and humidity and afternoon thunderstorms are common. Holiday weekends at Tuckahoe and Martinak should be booked well ahead, and busy camping traffic at both state parks generally runs April through October.
Winter camping is limited. Martinak stays open year round for camping, while Tuckahoe's family campground typically operates from spring through late fall. Coastal storms and nor'easters can affect the Bay from late summer through November, so RV travelers should watch marine forecasts when camping on exposed waterfront.

Good rental experience with this RV and also with the host, Oscar. Had a couple of Qs during the trip, and he responded quickly. Nice little travel trailer, fully stocked. Oscar provides an anti-sway trailer hitch, which increases travel & towing safety.

Oscar was great! He walked me through everything and helped me get the trailer connected to the truck. The trailer was clean and everything we ran was functional (did not use the AC). Upon return the family was very responsive when I called when I dropped off the trailer. I would definitely rent from Oscar and family again!

For group stays, Camp Todd is bookable through Campspot, and Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay accepts reservations up to nine months in advance.
What to expect
State park loops are wooded and quiet. Tuckahoe has 54 campsites with 33 electric hookups along Tuckahoe Creek, and sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs with a pad, picnic table, and fire ring, plus drinking water at loop spigots, flush toilets, a dump station, and a camp store. Electric sites are 30-amp only, and no water or sewer is provided at the site.
Martinak has 63 campsites near the Choptank River with 30 electric hookups. Amenities include drinking water at loop stations, flush toilets, and a dump station. Cell service can be spotty at wooded Eastern Shore parks, so download maps before arrival.
