Campgrounds and RV parks near Kingstown, MD

Kingstown sits on Maryland's Upper Eastern Shore in Queen Anne's County, just across the Chester River from Chestertown. The area gives RV travelers quick access to Chesapeake Bay tributaries, tidal marshes, and small waterfront towns, without the traffic of the Ocean City corridor. Most nearby campgrounds cluster along the Chester River and inland state park land. Closest to town, Duck Neck Campground is a family-oriented park with 356 full hook-up RV sites and a marina on the Chester River. Bay Shore Campground offers another private option along the water. For public land camping, Tuckahoe State Park surrounds a quiet Eastern Shore creek and includes a 60-acre lake for boating and fishing, while Elk Neck State Park sits north on a peninsula between the Elk and North East rivers. Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina rounds out the choices for travelers who want dockage and RV hookups in one location. Together these parks cover full-hookup private resorts, state-park electric loops, and marina-style camping.

Maryland state parks use a central reservation system. Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-432-2267 or online at parkreservations.maryland.gov. Sites can be booked up to 365 days in advance of the arrival date, so summer weekends at Tuckahoe and Elk Neck often clear out early in the year. Private parks including Duck Neck Campground, Bay Shore Campground, and Bar Harbor RV Park and Marina take bookings directly through their own websites or by phone. For holiday weekends and any Chester River fishing tournament dates, book several months out. Walk-up camping may be possible on weekdays or off-season if sites are available, but this should be treated as a backup, not a plan.
