Leitersburg sits in northern Washington County, Maryland, a short drive from the Catoctin and South Mountain ranges. The area puts RV renters within about half an hour of several public campgrounds in the Maryland state park system and Catoctin Mountain Park, a National Park Service unit. Hagerstown is the nearest full-service city for groceries, propane, and supplies. Most campgrounds nearby are wooded, mid-elevation sites in the Appalachians. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Williamsport adds a private, amenity-heavy option closer to the Potomac River. The mix suits families and first-time RV renters: state parks and Jellystone offer electric hookups, showers, and lake or pool swimming, while the national park campground stays more primitive with no hookups.
