Campgrounds and RV parks near Bayport, MN

Bayport sits on the west bank of the St. Croix River in Washington County, just south of Stillwater and roughly 25 miles east of downtown Saint Paul. The town is a practical base for RV travelers exploring the St. Croix Valley, with campgrounds clustered on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin sides of the river within a short drive. Most nearby options fall into two categories. Wisconsin state park camping is available at Willow River State Park Campground near Hudson, which offers reservable sites with electric hookups and access to a waterfall and swimming beach. Private RV parks in Somerset and along the Apple and St. Croix rivers, including Apple River Hide-A-Way, Golden Acres RV Park, Float-Rite Park, and Rivers Edge Campground, cater to tubers, families, and weekend groups. Expect a mix of shaded riverfront sites, open pull-through lots for larger rigs, and seasonal-lease sections. The region is close enough to the Twin Cities metro for grocery runs and dump-station stops, but rural enough that most campgrounds sit on wooded or agricultural land.

Willow River State Park Campground uses the Wisconsin State Park reservation system, and sites can be booked up to eleven months in advance. A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker is required in addition to the camping fee, with separate resident and nonresident rates. A two-night minimum applies from mid-May through October, and a three-night minimum applies on holiday weekends. Private campgrounds handle their own reservations. Apple River Hide-A-Way, Golden Acres RV Park, Float-Rite Park, and Rivers Edge Campground accept phone and online bookings directly through their own websites. Holiday weekends, particularly Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day, typically require deposits and multi-night minimums. RV renters should confirm rig-length limits, hookup amperage, and pet policies before arrival.
