Campgrounds and RV parks near Graceville, MN

Graceville sits in western Minnesota's prairie-pothole country, close to the South Dakota border and the southern end of Big Stone Lake. The lake is a 26-mile glacial trough that forms the source of the Minnesota River and anchors most of the camping options within an hour's drive, with strong walleye, perch, and northern-pike fishing. The closest developed public campground is Big Stone Lake State Park, in the Meadowbrook Area about seven miles north of Ortonville. Across the water on the South Dakota side, West - Hartford Beach State Park adds a larger, wooded campground with lakeshore access. Rustling Elms Resort and Lakeshore RV Park - Ortonville cover the private-park side, oriented toward RV travelers who want a longer stay near the lake. For RVers heading east toward Morris and the University of Minnesota Morris campus, Pomme de Terre Campground sits on the Pomme de Terre River within a Morris city park and works as a practical stopover.

Big Stone Lake State Park uses the Minnesota state parks reservation system operated by the DNR. Sites can be booked online or by phone from one year in advance down to one day out. A vehicle permit is required for park entry and is separate from the campsite fee. Hartford Beach State Park is on the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks reservation system at Camp SD. Reservations open on a rolling three-month window, and the campground includes electric sites plus year-round camping cabins. Rustling Elms Resort, Lakeshore RV Park - Ortonville, and Pomme de Terre Campground book directly through the property or through partner platforms such as Campspot. Weekend inventory in July and August tends to disappear early, so booking two to three months out is prudent.
