Campgrounds and RV parks near Lauderdale, MN

Lauderdale is a small inner-ring suburb of Saint Paul, tucked between the University of Minnesota's Saint Paul campus and the Minneapolis border. It sits inside the Twin Cities metro, which means RV travelers use it as a base for city attractions rather than as a rural destination in itself. Most nearby RV parks are 20 to 45 minutes away by car, spread around the metro ring and along the lake corridors north and east of the city. Options range from full-service private RV parks to a lakeside, veteran-focused campground. Town and Country Campground and RV Park in Savage sits south of the metro with easy interstate access, while Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey in Maple Grove is about 20 miles northwest of downtown. Ham Lake Resort is roughly 30 minutes north in Anoka County, and Dakotah Meadows RV Park is next to Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake. For a lakefront setting with military ties, the Disabled Veterans Campground on Big Marine Lake near Marine on St. Croix is about half an hour northeast of the Twin Cities and is open to veterans, their families, and sponsored guests.

Private RV parks near Lauderdale take direct bookings by phone or website, and popular summer weekends can sell out weeks or months out. Dakotah Meadows RV Park books ahead through its own reservation line, and Town and Country Campground and RV Park lists availability directly on its site. The Disabled Veterans Campground on Big Marine Lake is a nonprofit reserved for veterans, their families, and sponsored guests and books directly through its office. For state parks in the region, all campsites are handled through the Minnesota DNR's ReserveMN system, either online or by calling 866-857-2757. Reservations open 120 days before the arrival date at 8 a.m. Central time, and same-day reservations carry no transaction fee. A Minnesota state park vehicle permit is required for every vehicle entering a state park, in addition to the camping reservation.
