Campgrounds near Lino Lakes
Lino Lakes sits in the north metro of the Twin Cities, roughly 20 miles north of downtown Minneapolis and Saint Paul. The area combines suburban convenience with quick access to lake country, the St. Croix River valley, and a dense network of Minnesota state parks and regional parks. RV renters typically use Lino Lakes as a launch point for weekend trips east toward the St. Croix or short stays close to home base.
Campground options within about a 30-minute drive range from private RV parks to public and non-profit lakeshore camps. Ham Lake Resort and Golden Acres RV Park handle standard hookup camping, while Kozy Oaks Kamp offers a smaller private setting. Big Marine Lake hosts the Disabled Veterans Campground on Big Marine Lake, a non-profit facility restricted to veterans, their families, and sponsored guests.
For a state park experience, the Savanna - William O Brien State Park campground sits within William O'Brien State Park near Marine on St. Croix, about a 40-minute drive east of Lino Lakes.
Things to do near Lino Lakes
The St. Croix River corridor is the main draw. The river offers paddling for kayakers and canoeists, and anglers can catch walleye, bass, trout, and northern pike from the channels of the St. Croix. Swimming inside William O'Brien State Park is limited to Lake Alice, a small interior lake with a beach area.
On land, William O'Brien offers a network of hiking trails through oak savanna, wetlands, glacial moraine, and wooded hills, with routes varying in difficulty. The park's trails also connect the Riverway campground area to the river shoreline, and cross-country ski and snowshoe trails open in winter.
Closer to Lino Lakes, families use regional parks and area lakes for biking, paddling, and fishing. Big Marine Lake supports swimming, boating, and pontoon use for those with camp or public access.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lino%20Lakes%2C%20MinnesotaDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Lino Lakes, Minnesota?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need for almost every RV rental in Lino Lakes. Minnesota does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) for a personal-use recreational vehicle, which covers virtually every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel listed on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally required to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID inside the platform before pickup. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit from your home country's auto association before you fly, and you're ready to roll out of Lino Lakes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection or coverage is included with my Lino Lakes RV rental?
Every RV rental in Lino Lakes booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-35 with peace of mind. During checkout you choose your level of coverage, and the plan covers physical damage to the vehicle within the plan's terms. While it is not traditional auto insurance, it provides meaningful financial protection so you are not on the hook for the full value of the rig. Hosts do not pick your plan, you do, so review the options and select what fits your route and travel style for your Minnesota RV trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Lino Lakes RV rental?
Booking is low risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not the host), and there is a money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Beyond the grace window, refunds depend on how far out you are from your trip start date. Cancellation details are managed through your RVezy account, not the individual listing page, so you'll see your options clearly when you log in. Pro tip: book early to secure the best rigs for peak Twin Cities weekends, then relax knowing you have flexibility if plans shift.

Many hosts will deliver your travel trailer or motorhome straight to Rice Creek Campground, Bunker Hills Campground, William O'Brien State Park, or even your driveway in the northern suburbs. They handle leveling, hookups (water, electric, sewer if available), and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy, set your destination, and you'll see exact delivery fees, which typically scale with distance. It's the easiest way to start a Lino Lakes RV trip stress-free.

Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, hookups, holding tanks, the propane system, and the generator, so you're not figuring anything out alone. The roads around Lino Lakes are wide and flat, with easy access to I-35E and I-35W, and the suburban setting is much friendlier for new drivers than the urban core of Minneapolis. dps.mn.gov/divisions/ots/educational-materials/Pages/default.aspxWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV on my trip?
You're never stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so if you get a flat tire on Highway 61, a dead battery at William O'Brien State Park, or run out of fuel heading to Duluth, one phone call gets help dispatched. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Save the roadside number in your phone before you leave Lino Lakes and you can drive into your Minnesota adventure with total confidence.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Lino Lakes RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome on most Lino Lakes RV rentals, and Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota are all easy day-drives. Popular cross-border runs include Apostle Islands and Bayfield in Wisconsin (4 hours east) or the Black Hills in South Dakota (about 10 hours west). Cross-border trips into Canada (Thunder Bay or Winnipeg) may be allowed depending on the host and the insurance setup, so message the host directly from the listing before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because coverage does not extend there. Always bring your passport for Canada and let your host know your full route in advance.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goWhat kind of fuel mileage and budget should I plan for?
Plan your fuel budget realistically and you'll have no surprises. A Class B campervan typically gets 18 to 22 MPG, a Class C motorhome 8 to 12 MPG, and a Class A coach 6 to 10 MPG. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle, usually 10 to 14 MPG combined. Minnesota gas prices typically run slightly below the national average, and the Holiday and Kwik Trip stations along I-35 in Lino Lakes and Forest Lake are convenient last-fill-up spots before heading north. For a 4-night Minnesota RV trip covering 400 miles in a Class C, budget around $150 to $200 for fuel. Pro tip: fuel up before crossing into more remote stretches past Hinckley.

The town sits right off I-35E and I-35W with wide lanes and gentle suburban traffic, much easier than navigating downtown Minneapolis. Stick to right lanes, take it slow on rural county highways, and you'll find the region one of the easiest in the Midwest to drive an RV.

Easy steps, happy host, full deposit back.

Look for listings that explicitly mention four-season or winter-ready use, and ask the host about antifreeze in the plumbing, shore power needs, and how to keep tanks from freezing. Bundle up, and you'll have the campground practically to yourself.
