Private parks like Two Rivers Campground and Tubing operate on a seasonal calendar centered on late spring through fall, while Charles A. Lindbergh State Park's campground follows the standard Minnesota state park drive-in season. Water systems at state park campgrounds are typically shut off before winter, so late-season visitors should confirm shower and drinking water availability before booking. June through August is peak season. Warm days, river tubing, and swimming pull families in, and popular weekends at Two Rivers Campground and Tubing and Charles A. Lindbergh State Park fill well in advance. Holiday weekends around Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day book earliest. Spring brings variable weather, high water on the Platte and Mississippi, and heavy mosquito activity in wet years. Fall delivers cooler nights, thinner crowds, and hardwood color. Winter camping is limited at private parks, though Minnesota state parks such as Lindbergh remain open in fall and winter for day use and limited rustic camping.

Private parks in the area lean toward full-hookup, big-rig-friendly sites with 30 and 50-amp electric, water, sewer, and pull-through options. Two Rivers Campground and Tubing offers spacious sites, modern restrooms with showers, laundry, a dump station, a general store, and a playground. Charles A. Lindbergh State Park has 38 drive-in sites with 15 electric sites, plus 2 cart-in sites and one group camp, with an RV length limit of 50 feet. Amenities include showers, flush and vault toilets, a dump station, firewood, and a playground. The campground is heavily wooded with many trees providing shade, though sites can feel close together in the smaller loops. Mosquitoes can be intense near rivers and after rain, so bring repellent. Cell coverage is generally reliable across the corridor.
