Campgrounds and RV parks near Bedminster, NJ

Bedminster sits in the rolling hills of Somerset County in north-central New Jersey, within about an hour's drive of several state parks that accept RVs and trailers. The surrounding Hunterdon and Morris county highlands hold the closest overnight options, most of them state-run and seasonal. Spruce Run Recreation Area, on Van Syckles Road in Clinton, includes 60 tent and trailer sites with picnic tables and fire rings, 7 trailer-only campsites with water and electric 30/50-amp hook-ups and three shelters, plus a sanitary dump station, and flush toilets and showers within walking distance. Voorhees State Park and its campgrounds are administered by Spruce Run Recreation Area. The Musconetcong River, an excellent freshwater fishing spot, flows over and around boulders through Stephens State Park, which features fishing in its trout stocked waters. Fla-Net Park and Goodland Country Club and Spa round out the closer-in options for travellers who want to stay nearer to Bedminster itself rather than drive west toward the Highlands.

Online reservations for New Jersey state park campgrounds can be made at camping.nj.gov. Spruce Run, Voorhees and Stephens all share this single portal, and the Spruce Run park office administers bookings for Voorhees as well. There is a 2-night minimum and a 14-night maximum for stays at the campground. Reservations are recommended, especially for peak summer weekends when the campground fills quickly. For RVs, requesting a spot with minimal tree coverage helps avoid low-hanging branches. A non-refundable transaction fee is charged to the customer for each reservation. Booking eight to twelve weeks out is typical for summer holiday weekends; midweek stays in spring and fall are usually easier to secure. Fla-Net Park and Goodland Country Club and Spa are private operations, so travellers should contact those campgrounds directly rather than through the state portal.
