Campgrounds and RV parks near Cedar Glen Lakes, NJ

Cedar Glen Lakes is an unincorporated community in Manchester Township, Ocean County, New Jersey, sitting inside the Pine Barrens roughly 20 miles from the Jersey Shore beaches and within a short drive of Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. The area combines pitch pine and oak forest, cranberry bogs, and small lakes, with sandy soils that drain quickly after rain. RV renters use Cedar Glen Lakes as a base for two very different trip styles: quiet state-forest camping in the Pinelands and full-hookup private resorts oriented to family attractions. Brendan T. Byrne State Forest, one of the largest state forests in New Jersey, anchors the public-lands option and lies within the Pinelands National Reserve. Private parks in nearby Jackson Township, including Indian Rock RV Resort and Campground, Butterfly Camping Resort, and Timberland Lake Campground, sit within roughly 20 to 30 minutes of Cedar Glen Lakes and cater to travelers who want pools, planned activities, and easy access to Six Flags. Crystal Springs Wilderness Lodges and RV Resort broadens the range for renters willing to drive farther for a wilderness-style stay.

State forest sites are booked through the New Jersey State Park Service reservation system at camping.nj.gov. Reservations at Brendan T. Byrne State Forest can be made from two days up to one year in advance, with a two-night minimum and a fourteen-night maximum stay. Only a portion of the sites suit larger RVs and trailers, so RV renters should reserve early, especially for summer weekends. Private parks handle their own reservations. Indian Rock RV Resort and Campground requires reservations for all stays, including tent sites, and takes bookings by phone. Butterfly Camping Resort and Timberland Lake Campground both accept online and phone bookings and are busiest around holiday weekends, so lock in dates several weeks ahead for summer trips near Six Flags.
