The main camping season in southern New Jersey runs spring through fall. Parvin State Park Campground operates April through October with advance reservations available, and most private parks near Fairton follow a similar window, opening in April and closing in late October or early November. Summer is peak season. Weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day book heavily at family-oriented resorts, and holiday weekends fill months in advance. Expect warm, humid weather, thunderstorms, and busy pool and splash-pad areas. Shoulder months in May, September, and early October bring cooler temperatures, thinner crowds, and strong fall foliage across the mixed pine and hardwood forests. Winter camping options are limited. State-park tent and trailer sites close for the cold months, and even year-round private campgrounds may reduce water service when temperatures drop. Spring brings blossoming dogwood, mountain laurel, holly, magnolia, wild azalea, and more than 200 species of flowering plants across Parvin, along with active bird migration through the bay region.

Sites near Fairton range from basic state-park pads to full-hookup resort sites. At Parvin, the park offers 56 tent and trailer campsites along the south shore of Parvin Lake. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern hook, with a playground conveniently nearby. Access roads are narrow in places, so larger rigs should confirm site dimensions before booking. Note that the sanitary dump station at Jaggers Point within the Parvin State Park campground is closed until further notice. Private resorts like Adventure Bound Tall Pines sit on wooded acreage with modern amenities. The property covers 113 beautiful woodland acres in rural southwestern New Jersey and is a family-oriented camping and RV resort. Expect shaded sites, modern bathhouses, laundry facilities, and a dump station. Cell coverage is generally reliable across the region. Terrain is flat to gently rolling, biting insects are active in summer, and ticks are common on wooded trails, so pack repellent and check regularly after hikes.
