Campgrounds and RV parks near Greenwich, NJ

Greenwich Township sits in the northwest corner of Warren County, New Jersey, bordered by Franklin, Lopatcong, and Pohatcong townships and by Bloomsbury in Hunterdon County. Interstate 78 cuts through the township and U.S. Route 22 runs along its western edge, putting Greenwich roughly an hour from both New York City and Philadelphia and only a short drive from the Delaware River. RV travelers use Greenwich as a base for two very different types of camping. Mountainview Campground, a family-owned property in Milford operating since 1953, offers primitive, wooded sites on 150 acres of farmland on the south side of the Musconetcong Mountains. A short drive west across the Delaware River leads into Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where Ringing Rocks Family Campground, Colonial Woods Family Resort, and Beaver Valley Campgrounds cluster around Upper Black Eddy and Ottsville. For a state-park experience, Spruce Run State Recreational Area sits about 20 minutes south in Hunterdon County. It surrounds New Jersey's third-largest reservoir and is the closest public campground to Greenwich.

Spruce Run reservations are handled through the New Jersey State Park Service at camping.nj.gov. All advance reservations must be made online, and same-day reservations can be made online until 2 p.m. Walk-in reservations are accepted only if space is available. Pets and alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the campground. Private parks use their own systems. Ringing Rocks Family Campground books through Campspot and by phone. Colonial Woods Family Resort and Beaver Valley Campgrounds take reservations directly through their own websites and by phone. Mountainview Campground books directly through the property. For summer weekends, reserve well in advance, particularly for holidays. Deposits are commonly required at private parks, and Spruce Run charges non-refundable transaction fees on state reservations.
