Campgrounds and RV parks near Lebanon, NJ

Lebanon sits in central Hunterdon County, within a short drive of several state-managed campgrounds in the New Jersey Highlands. The terrain is rolling and wooded, with reservoirs, trout streams, and the Musconetcong River corridor shaping most outdoor recreation in the area. RV travelers typically use Lebanon as a base for reservoir camping, hiking, and fishing trips. The closest developed camping is at Voorhees State Park, a wooded park in the hills above the town. Camping options include 30 tent sites equipped with fire rings and picnic tables, along with modern restrooms and showers. Eight of those sites can accommodate a trailer, though there is no electric or water hook-up. Spruce Run State Recreational Area lies just west near Clinton and offers reservoir-side sites for RVs and tents. Farther north, Stephens State Park sits along the Musconetcong River near Hackettstown. Private options in the area include Goodland Country Club and Spa and Mountainview Campground for travelers wanting amenities outside the state park system.

New Jersey state park campsites, including Voorhees, Spruce Run, and Stephens, are booked through the state's central reservation system at camping.nj.gov. The system handles family sites, group sites, shelters, and trailer sites across the state park network. When booking, specify the camping setup (tent, trailer, or shelter) and any preferences for water views or shade levels. For RVs, requesting a spot with minimal tree coverage is advisable to avoid low-hanging branches. Spruce Run has seven trailer-only campsites with water and 30/50-amp electric hook-ups, numbered 1 through 4 and 55 through 57; these fill quickly and are worth booking early. Private campgrounds such as Goodland Country Club and Spa and Mountainview Campground are booked directly with the property. Peak summer weekends often require booking weeks in advance.
