Campgrounds and RV parks near Ledgewood, NJ

Ledgewood sits in Morris County in northwest New Jersey, where Route 80 meets Route 46 at the edge of the Skylands region. The location puts RV travelers within a short drive of state parks, private lake resorts, and family campgrounds, while keeping New York City and Newark within day-trip range. The closest options include Fla-Net Park in nearby Flanders and Panther Lake Camping Resort in Byram Township, which sits on 160 wooded acres featuring a 45 acre lake just 50 miles from New York City. Stephens State Park Campground near Hackettstown offers 39 tent and small trailer sites, is open seasonally April 1 through October 31, sits at 623 feet elevation, and lists a 40-foot max length. Goodland Country Club and Spa and The Great Divide Campground, LLC round out the mix with additional wooded and open sites in rural Sussex County. Elevations across the area sit between roughly 600 and 1,000 feet, so nights run cooler than the coastal plain. Most campgrounds are seasonal, and reservation windows fill fast for holiday weekends.

State park sites use a single statewide system. Online reservations can be made at camping.nj.gov. There is a 2-night minimum and a 14-night maximum for stays at the campground, the primary campsite occupant must be 18 years of age or older, alcohol is not permitted at New Jersey State Campsites, and quiet hours are from 10 pm to 6 am. Non-New Jersey residents pay a slightly higher nightly rate. Private parks book directly through their own websites or by phone. Panther Lake Camping Resort, Fla-Net Park, and The Great Divide all handle reservations in-house rather than through a national portal. For summer weekends and holiday stretches, aim to book two to three months out. Cancellation policies vary and deposits are often non-refundable close to the arrival date, so confirm terms before paying.
