Campgrounds and RV parks near Lincroft, NJ

At Allaire State Park, the park offers hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, disc golf, visiting the historic Allaire Village, and seasonal rides on the Pine Creek Railroad. The Manasquan River is stocked with trout in spring for freshwater anglers, and park trails see use for cross-country skiing after snow. Turkey Swamp Park centers on a 17-acre lake. The park has 4 playgrounds (one inside the campground), a 17-acre lake for boating and fishing (boats available for rental), 8 miles of trails, open playfields, vending machines, and large-group picnic facilities for rent, with pitch pine and oak woodland used by hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians. The Atlantic beaches at Belmar, Asbury Park, and Sandy Hook are all reachable as day trips, along with Monmouth Battlefield State Park for history stops.

Seasons dictate which sites are open. Turkey Swamp Park's family campground is open from April 1 through November 15 and accommodates tents, travel trailers, and motor homes, closing entirely for winter. Allaire operates on a longer window: the campground is open year-round, with amenities that include drinking water, flush toilets, showers and an RV dump station (open mid-April to mid-October). Group camping at Allaire runs on a separate spring-through-fall schedule. Summer is peak season. Weekends fill first, especially at sites within a short drive of the shore, and campsites and shelters book up fast for summer and holiday weekends, so booking at least three months in advance is advised. Late spring and September carry warm days with fewer crowds and lower mosquito pressure. Winter travel is possible but limited. Only Allaire's family and group loops accept off-season stays among the public options, and RV renters should expect winterized water service and a closed dump station from mid-October through mid-April.

Sites in the area are mostly wooded and level. At Turkey Swamp, the 64 pull-through campsites can accommodate tent campers, travel trailers and motor homes up to 40 feet with up to 6 people, with electrical and water service across the wooded loops. Allaire's campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs, and each site has a table, fire ring and grate, with no individual hookups. Expect black bear country protocol. Black bears are present in all New Jersey parks, so follow the park's bear safety protocols, meaning food and trash go in the RV or a hard-sided container overnight. Cell coverage is generally strong across Monmouth County. Ticks are active from spring through fall, so long pants and repellent are worth packing for trail time.
