Campgrounds and RV parks near Neshanic Station, NJ

Neshanic Station sits in Hillsborough Township along the South Branch of the Raritan River, in the rolling farmland between Somerville and Flemington. The village works well as a base for RV travelers exploring central New Jersey, with several state parks and private campgrounds within a short drive. The closest public camping is at Voorhees State Park, which offers camping, scenic hiking trails, and an observatory in the hills of northern Hunterdon County. Spruce Run State Recreational Area sits nearby on a large reservoir with boating and swimming access, and Washington Crossing State Park, NJ to the south preserves Delaware River history. Private options include Goodland Country Club and Spa and Mountainview Campground. Most sites in the region are basic. Only a portion of tent sites at Voorhees can accommodate a trailer, and there is no electric or water hookup. RV travelers who need full hookups should plan around a private campground and use the state parks for day trips.

New Jersey state park campgrounds use a single reservation system. Reservations are made online at camping.nj.gov, with the Spruce Run Park Office reachable at 908-638-8572. This covers both Voorhees and Spruce Run. Book online months ahead for summer weekends; midweek stays are usually easier to secure. All overnight facilities must be reserved and occupied by at least one adult 18 years of age or older, and no more than six people may occupy a camping facility unless they are all members of one family. Pets and alcoholic beverages are prohibited at these state facilities except at designated pet-friendly sites. Private options such as Goodland Country Club and Spa and Mountainview Campground are booked directly with the operator and typically offer hookups the state parks do not.
