Campgrounds near Victory Lakes, New Jersey

Victory Lakes is an unincorporated community in Monroe Township, Gloucester County, in the southern part of New Jersey. The surrounding area is flat, sandy Pine Barrens country, with easy road access to Philadelphia, the Delaware River, and the Atlantic City shoreline. RV travellers use it as a base for beach trips, family attractions, and low-elevation forest camping. Most campgrounds within a short drive are privately owned, family-oriented RV parks rather than state or federal sites. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: South Jersey in Williamstown is the closest full-service resort, followed by Buena Vista Campground on Harding Highway in Buena and Buena Vista Camping Park along the same Route 40 corridor. Lake Kandle sits north in Washington Township near Sewell, and Roamers Beach RV Resort is southeast in the Hammonton area. These parks lean heavily toward RV sites with water, electric, and sewer hookups, with cabin rentals and lake or pool swimming common. Several are seasonal-only and close for winter, so trip planning should confirm operating dates before booking.

Things to do near Victory Lakes

On-site amenities carry most family trips. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: South Jersey runs character events, jumping pillows, pools, and a swimming lake, with themed weekends across the warm season. Buena Vista Campground offers a double waterslide, a large pool and kiddies pool, an 18-hole mini golf course, and a bass-stocked lake with a swim zone. Lake Kandle centres on a spring-fed swimming lake plus a large pool, and Roamers Beach RV Resort has lake access and a laid-back beach setting. Off-site trips are easy. Atlantic City's boardwalk and beaches sit about 30 to 40 minutes east. Wharton State Forest, the largest tract of Pine Barrens, offers hiking, paddling on the Mullica and Batsto rivers, and access to Batsto Village. Philadelphia is roughly 45 minutes northwest for day trips.

The core RV season in South Jersey runs from mid-spring through late fall. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: South Jersey typically operates from April into early November, with peak activity from late June through Labor Day. Roamers Beach RV Resort runs a similar warm-season window, and Lake Kandle operates from spring through early fall. Buena Vista Campground stays open and accepts seasonal and long-term RV reservations, though most short-term amenities cluster in the warm months. Summer is the busiest stretch. Pools, lake beaches, and character events run daily, weekends fill early, and holiday weekends around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day are in highest demand. Holidays require a three-night stay at several parks in the area. Spring and fall are quieter and cooler. Themed Halloween weekends at Jellystone stretch across September and October and are popular family bookings. Winter camping options are limited: most private parks close their bathhouses and shut off water, and state park camping in the region is generally closed from around November through March.

We had a great experience with RV Cozy Camper. The camper truly lived up to its name — it was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making our trip relaxing and enjoyable. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided, and the layout made the space feel welcoming and functional. It was easy to tow and set up, which helped take a lot of stress out of the trip. The attention to detail really showed and made us feel comfortable right away. Communication was smooth and helpful, and any questions we had were answered promptly. Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and we would absolutely recommend RV Cozy Camper to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable camping option. We would happily use RV Cozy Camper again for future trips!

We had a family reunion out in West Virginia the first week in August. We decided to rent an RV this how I found Rod the owner of the RV. He was very polite and up front we us the whole time. The only down fall is the no pet rule. But we definitely rent from him next year.

We had a blast on our family road trip. "Archie" was easy to drive, clean and comfortable for my family of 3, with room to spare. Rod is a really nice guy and responded quickly to any question we had. We would love to do it again soon

How to book

Private campgrounds around Victory Lakes take direct reservations through their own websites or via booking platforms such as Campspot. Buena Vista Campground requires payment in full at the time of reservation, and the person making the reservation must be at least 25, with at least one adult camping. Cancellations 30 or more days out are refunded minus a small admin fee, cancellations 7 to 29 days out can be rescheduled within the season for an admin fee, and cancellations inside 7 days are not refunded. Holiday weekends are non-refundable and non-transferable. Lake Kandle is largely seasonal, so nightly availability is limited and best confirmed by phone. For state park campsites in the wider region, reservations run through the New Jersey State Parks reservation portal.

What to expect

Expect resort-style private parks rather than backcountry sites. Sites are typically level, wooded, and full-hookup, with 50, 30, and 20 amp electric, water, sewer, and pull-through options for larger rigs. Wi-Fi, laundry, dump stations, camp stores, and pools are standard. Most parks near Victory Lakes are RV, motorhome, and pop-up focused. Pet policies vary: RV sites typically allow up to two pets, while cabins and tents do not permit pets. Some sites lean heavily seasonal, with long-term residents alongside short-term guests, so day-use amenities can feel busier on weekends than the campsite count alone suggests. Newer RVs are often preferred: Buena Vista Campground, for example, requires incoming RVs to have a manufacturing date of 10 years or newer, with 12 years for destination units and 15 years for park models.
