Campgrounds and RV parks near Wildwood Crest, NJ

Wildwood Crest sits at the southern end of the Five Mile Beach barrier island in Cape May County, New Jersey. RV travelers typically stage on the mainland side of the bridges along Route 9 and Seashore Road, where full-hookup resorts cluster within a short drive of the Wildwoods boardwalk and Cape May's Victorian downtown. Nearby options include Sun Outdoors Cape May, a 38-acre wooded resort with over 300 RV sites located between Cape May and the Wildwoods, along with Holly Shores Campground, Beachcomber Camping Resort, Sun Retreats Cape May Wildwood, and Sun Retreats Cape May. Most properties in this corridor cater to big rigs and families rather than primitive campers. Sites commonly offer 30 and 50 amp electric, water and sewer hookups, pull-through options, and amenities like pools, laundry, showers, and general stores. Cabin and cottage rentals are common alongside RV sites. The area is compact: the closest campgrounds sit roughly a ten to fifteen minute drive from Wildwood Crest beaches, and Cape May Point State Park lies just a few miles south.

Reservations at the Wildwood Crest and Cape May campgrounds are handled directly by each property rather than through a central agency like Recreation.gov, since these are private resorts. Sun Outdoors Cape May, Holly Shores Campground, Beachcomber Camping Resort, Sun Retreats Cape May Wildwood, and Sun Retreats Cape May each take bookings by phone or through their own websites, with the Sun-branded resorts also bookable through Campspot. For holiday weekends and prime July and August dates, book several months ahead. Winter and early spring is when the calendar opens up for the coming season, and popular waterfront or pull-through sites go first. Deposit and cancellation terms vary by resort, so review each property's policy before confirming.
