Campgrounds and RV parks near Bloomingburg, NY

The surrounding Catskills and Shawangunks deliver a strong mix of water, trail, and family attractions. Paddlers and anglers head to the Delaware, Neversink, and Willowemoc waters, while hikers can pick up ridge trails along the Shawangunk system and into Catskill Forest Preserve lands. Families staying at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort or Catskill RV Resort typically build days around on-site pools, playgrounds, and organized activities, then drive out for attractions like Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Holiday Mountain, and Resorts World Catskills. Sullivan County's park system also operates Lake Superior State Park, the Delaware and Hudson Canal Linear Park, Minisink Battleground Park, Livingston Manor Covered Bridge Park, and Stone Arch Bridge Historical Park, all useful low-cost stops for a rest-day loop from camp.

The RV season in this part of the Catskills is essentially late spring through mid-fall. Most private resorts, including Catskill RV Resort, Skyway Camping Resort, and Oakland Valley Campground, typically open in spring and close by late October. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort and KOA Holiday Deerpark New York City follow a similar warm-season schedule, so travelers should confirm dates on each operator's website. Summer brings the strongest demand. Weekends around Independence Day, event nights at Bethel Woods, and Labor Day book out early, and holiday sites at the larger resorts often fill months ahead. Weekday arrivals are noticeably easier. Fall is a strong shoulder season for foliage, typically peaking in mid-October in the Catskills region. Winter is cold and snowy in the higher elevations; most private campgrounds are closed, and RV travelers should expect freeze risk. DEC campgrounds in the broader Catskills allow same-day reservations until 5 p.m. on the day of arrival, made online or through the Reserve America call center, which is useful for last-minute shoulder-season trips.

Terrain in this part of New York is rolling and wooded, with narrow secondary roads. RV renters new to the area should plan routes on Route 17 (I-86), Route 17K, and Route 209 rather than local shortcuts, and watch for low branches and tight turns on approach roads to smaller campgrounds. Cell coverage is generally reliable near the highway corridors and spottier in the forested pockets. Sites at Catskill RV Resort, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, and KOA Holiday Deerpark New York City lean toward full-hookup, family-resort layouts with pools and activities. Oakland Valley Campground and Skyway Camping Resort are quieter and more recreation-focused. Bears, ticks, and mosquitoes are all present. Store food securely, check for ticks after hiking, and expect firewood-transport rules aimed at protecting local forests.
