Here’s the updated version with the host included: RV Trip Review We just got back from our trip and had a great experience with this RV. The vehicle was clean, comfortable, and ran really well throughout the entire trip. It had plenty of space for the family and made traveling together easy and enjoyable. Everything worked as expected, and we felt comfortable and confident on the road. The host was also incredibly supportive, friendly, and easy to communicate with. They made the whole rental experience smooth and stress-free. It was a great RV for a family trip(5 people), and we would definitely rent from this host again!

How to book campgrounds near Chestnut Ridge

Reservations at Beaver Pond Campground - Harriman State Park are handled through the New York State Parks system on ReserveAmerica. The booking window opens up to nine months in advance, and same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Summer weekends are highly competitive. Wawayanda State Park offers group campsites only, with a seven-person minimum per site. These are reserved online at camping.nj.gov, and the park office can help with questions about specific sites. Private parks including Black Bear Campground, Camp Wyanokie, and Liberty Harbor RV Park are booked directly through each operator's website or by phone. For summer trips, reserve two to three months out at minimum, and earlier for full-hookup pull-through sites that fit larger Class A or fifth-wheel rigs.

What to expect

Public campgrounds in this area lean rustic. Beaver Pond Campground - Harriman State Park has shared comfort stations with showers, laundry, and a dump station, but no electrical hookups for trailers, and sites are limited to RVs up to 30 feet. Pets are not permitted. Wawayanda State Park has no showers and no water at individual campsites; water must be carried from the main office. Plan to arrive with full fresh tanks and be ready to dry camp. Black Bear Campground is the closest full-service private option with electric, water, and sewer hookups plus family amenities. Liberty Harbor RV Park provides full hookups in an urban paved-lot setting, not a wooded one. Black bears are active across the Highlands, so food and trash must be secured. Cell service is spotty inside Harriman and Wawayanda, and larger rigs should confirm length limits with the park before booking.
