Campgrounds and RV parks near Eastchester, NY

Eastchester sits in southern Westchester County, roughly a half-hour drive from midtown Manhattan. There are no drive-in RV campgrounds inside Eastchester itself, so trips built around this area rely on a small ring of options across the New York City metro and the Lower Hudson Valley. The closest RV-friendly base is Liberty Harbor RV Park across the Hudson in Jersey City, which trades scenery for direct transit access into Manhattan. Floyd Bennett Field in Gateway National Recreation Area offers tent and RV sites inside Brooklyn's Jamaica Bay unit. For a more traditional forest setting, drivers head north into the Palisades and Hudson Highlands. Beaver Pond Campground in Harriman State Park and Pelton Pond at Clarence Fahnestock State Park sit within an hour's drive and provide state-park camping around lakes and hiking trails. West of the Hudson, Camp Wyanokie in West Milford, New Jersey adjoins Norvin Green State Forest. Site types range widely across these parks, from full-hookup marina spaces to rustic tent-only pitches, so matching the campground to the rig is the first planning step.

New York State Parks use ReserveAmerica for both Beaver Pond and Pelton Pond, with a nine-month reservation window and same-day bookings for campsites accepted until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Walk-ins are permitted only at campsites, not at cabins or pavilions. Camp Gateway at Floyd Bennett Field is booked through Recreation.gov, with advance reservations required at least a day ahead of arrival. Liberty Harbor RV Park handles bookings directly by phone or through its website, and Camp Wyanokie uses Campspot for its rustic tent sites. Weekend inventory in the Harriman and Fahnestock area moves quickly, so booking as early as the window allows is the safest approach.
