Select sites can accommodate a trailer or RV up to 30 feet long, with no electric hookups but a dump station and full-service bathrooms on-site. Pelton Pond - Clarence Fahnestock State Park, roughly an hour north in Putnam County, offers a wooded campground built along natural rock ridges with tent and RV sites.
For renters who want to stay closer to the city, Liberty Harbor RV Park in Jersey City provides full hookups and a Manhattan skyline view, while Floyd Bennett Field - Gateway National Recreational Area gives National Park Service camping inside Brooklyn. Camp Wyanokie in West Milford, New Jersey, rounds out the options with rustic tent-only sites bordering Norvin Green State Forest.
