Campgrounds and RV parks near Marlboro, NY

Marlboro sits on the west bank of the Hudson River in Ulster County, between Newburgh and Poughkeepsie. The town works well as a base for RV travelers because it puts state parks with campgrounds, a KOA, and a Jellystone resort within a short drive, and it keeps travelers close to Hudson Valley wineries, orchards, and river towns. The closest RV-friendly option is the New York City North / Newburgh KOA Holiday, just across the river. Families with kids often prefer Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Lazy River for its pools and activity schedule. Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc offers a lakefront private campground within about a 30-minute drive. For state park camping, Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park offers boating, hunting, fishing, and birding, with Canopus Lake, its sandy shore, and nearby picnic area as the jewel of the park. Pelton Pond, inside Fahnestock, anchors a quieter corner of the park. Farther north along the river, there are 44 tent sites and 10 cabins available at Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park, and recreational vehicles are welcome, though the park does not offer hookup facilities.

New York State Park campgrounds use the ReserveAmerica system. Reservations can be made online or through the ReserveAmerica Call Center at 1-800-456-2267. At Fahnestock, reservations must be made 2 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 9 months in advance, and at Mills-Norrie reservations must be made 1 day ahead of arrival and can be made up to 9 months in advance. Private parks handle bookings on their own sites. The New York City North / Newburgh KOA Holiday and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Lazy River both accept reservations through their brand websites, and Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc books directly. Peak summer weekends and foliage weekends should be locked in months out, especially for larger rigs.
