Campgrounds and RV parks near Napanoch, NY

Napanoch sits in Ulster County at the base of the Shawangunk Ridge, with the Catskill Park rising to the west and the Rondout Creek running through town. The location puts RV travelers within a short drive of both private full-hookup resorts and public land managed by New York State Parks and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Private options concentrate along the Route 209 corridor and into Sullivan County. Rondout Valley RV Campground in Accord runs a spring-to-fall season, while Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, Skyway Camping Resort, Catskill RV Resort, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Birchwood Acres provide family-oriented amenities within a reasonable drive. Traditional camping is not allowed inside Minnewaska State Park Preserve itself, but the Sam Pryor III Shawangunk Gateway Campground serves as the official camping option for the preserve, located just outside the main park boundaries. That facility accommodates RVs up to 20 feet and offers both drive-in and walk-in sites, so larger rigs rely on the private resorts for hookups.

Private resorts near Napanoch take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Several parks in the Rondout Valley operate under the Thousand Trails membership network; non-members can still book nightly stays, but members receive priority on full-hookup sites, so booking early matters on summer and foliage weekends. For day-use access to Sam's Point, the New York State Parks system uses ReserveAmerica. Reservations are required only on weekends and holidays between April 15th and November 15th, with two sessions per day, 9 AM to 2 PM and 2 PM to close, and may be purchased up to 14 days before a visit. For state-managed campgrounds elsewhere in the Catskills, reservations run through the New York State Parks online system or by phone. Camping reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance.
