Campgrounds and RV parks near New Hamburg, NY

New Hamburg sits on the east bank of the Hudson River in Dutchess County, about halfway between Poughkeepsie and Beacon. RV travelers use it as a base for exploring the mid-Hudson Valley, including riverfront state parks, Cold Spring, and the Hudson Highlands. Campground options within roughly a 30-mile radius span state park campgrounds and private family resorts. Along the Hudson, Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park sits on the east shore of the Hudson River in the Town of Hyde Park in Dutchess County, with wooded sites near a marina. Inland to the east, Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc sits on a small lake in Beekman, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Lazy River caters to families in the same corridor. To the south, Clarence Fahnestock State Park spans Putnam and Dutchess counties in the Hudson Highlands, and across the river the New York City North / Newburgh KOA Holiday provides full-hookup RV sites in Ulster County. Most sites are within an hour's drive, making day trips from a single basecamp practical.

New York State Parks use ReserveAmerica. Reservations at Clarence Fahnestock State Park and Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park can be made online or through the ReserveAmerica Call Center at 1-800-456-2267. Standard campsite reservations must be made at least one day ahead of arrival and can be made up to nine months in advance. Weekend and holiday inventory fills quickly in summer, and for 2026 only the Fahnestock Group Wilderness Campground is bookable. The New York City North / Newburgh KOA Holiday, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Lazy River, and Sylvan Lake Beach Park Inc each take reservations directly through their own websites or phone lines. Themed weekends and holiday events at the KOA and Jellystone locations sell out earliest. Confirm rig-length limits before booking, especially at state park sites.
