Campgrounds and RV parks near Rock Hill, NY

Water recreation anchors most trips. Lake Superior State Park in Bethel covers 1,409 acres and features a designated swimming area, sand beach, boat rentals including kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and rowboats, a public boat launch for electric motors only, volleyball, and a playground. The Neversink River runs through Oakland Valley Campground, where riverfront campsites give campers the chance to fish directly from their site. Cultural stops sit within a short drive. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts hosts live music and museum exhibits on the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. On-site amenities at nearby parks fill rainy days: Catskill RV Resort has a heated community swimming pool, playground, and basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, and Skyway Camping Resort adds a solar-heated Olympic-size swimming pool and hot tub, a fishing and paddle-boat pond, sports courts, and an on-site store.

Most private campgrounds around Rock Hill run a defined warm-weather season. Skyway Camping Resort is open May through October, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres typically runs from late April through mid-October. Catskill RV Resort markets itself for seasonal stays beneath soaring maple and oak trees, with spacious sites featuring 30 and 50-amp hookups during the same warm-weather window. Summer is peak season. School vacation, Bethel Woods concerts, and lake-based recreation push weekend bookings weeks or months in advance, and Sullivan Catskills sources note that most campgrounds require reservations, particularly during summer weekends and holidays when facilities reach capacity. Late spring and early fall offer cooler nights, thinner crowds, and better rate availability, though pools and water features may close after Labor Day. Winter closes the private campgrounds entirely. Nearby day-use spots remain accessible: Lake Superior State Park is open year-round for activities such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, but overnight RV options in the immediate area effectively pause until spring.

Sites are wooded and generally shaded. Catskill RV Resort sits beneath soaring maple and oak trees, and Oakland Valley Campground is nestled in rustic woods along 2000 feet of the Neversink River. Expect a mix of back-in and pull-through sites with 30 and 50-amp service at the RV-focused resorts. Family amenities are the norm. Jellystone Birchwood Acres runs paddleboating, fishing, an interactive water zone, themed events, and planned activities, and Skyway adds a large pond with pedal boats and fishing, an outdoor pool, a sun deck and hot tub, a tennis court, a fitness centre, a games room and a clubhouse. Bathhouses, laundry rooms, and camp stores are standard at the listed properties. Cell coverage varies in the wooded valleys, and Wi-Fi at some parks is limited to common areas. Bring bug spray for late spring and early summer, and pack layers: nights cool off quickly once the sun drops behind the ridges.
