Campgrounds and RV parks near Woodbury, NY

Woodbury sits in Orange County, New York, at the northern edge of the Hudson Highlands and about an hour north of the George Washington Bridge. The village is best known to travelers as the exit for Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, but for RV renters it functions as a practical base between two large state park systems: Harriman and Bear Mountain to the south, and Clarence Fahnestock to the northeast across the Hudson. The closest developed campground is Beaver Pond Campground inside the 46,000-acre Harriman State Park, which offers 125 sites with select spots able to accommodate a trailer or RV up to 30 feet in length. There are no electrical hookups at Beaver Pond, so many RV renters choose Black Bear Campground in nearby Florida, NY, which operates year-round with full-hookup 50-amp sites providing water, sewer, and electric connections. Other options within about 45 minutes include Pelton Pond at Clarence Fahnestock State Park, the New York City North / Newburgh KOA Holiday across the Hudson, and Camp Wyanokie in the nearby Norvin Green State Forest area of northern New Jersey.

New York State Park campgrounds, including Beaver Pond and the Pelton Pond area of Clarence Fahnestock, are booked through ReserveAmerica. Camping reservations can be made up to nine months in advance, and same-day reservations are permitted only until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Walk-ins are permitted on campsites only. Private parks use their own systems. Black Bear Campground and the New York City North / Newburgh KOA Holiday take direct online or phone reservations, and holiday weekends often require multi-night minimums. RV renters should confirm length limits before booking. Beaver Pond caps rigs at about 30 feet with no electric hookups, while Pelton Pond accepts RVs up to about 40 feet, so larger rigs and travelers who want power should default to the private parks.
