Campgrounds and RV parks near Flemington, PA

Bald Eagle State Park is the anchor activity for most trips. Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir supports boating, swimming at a 1,200-foot sand and turf beach, and warm-water fishing for bass, catfish, walleye, perch, crappie, and muskellunge, and the park has recorded over 200 bird species including its namesake bald eagles. Around Waterville, Happy Acres Resort sits across the road from Little Pine State Park and its 94-acre lake, and the Pine Creek Rail Trail runs more than 60 miles of scenic biking and hiking route through the valley. Big Pine Creek and Little Pine Creek are stocked trout streams. At Woodward Cave, guided tours cover a large limestone cave with formations such as the Tower of Babel, the largest known stalagmite in Pennsylvania.

Summer is the peak RV season. The Bald Eagle State Park beach is open from late May to mid-September, and the state park campgrounds open the second Friday of April and close after the end of deer season in mid-December. Woodward Cave and Campground runs its camping season from mid-April to mid-October, with cave tours available from late May through early September. Spring brings the wettest stretch of the year, with April averaging heavy rainfall and streams running high, which favors trout anglers on Big Pine Creek and Little Pine Creek but can leave forest roads soft. Fall delivers cool nights, hardwood color across the ridges, and quieter campgrounds through October before the state park camping season closes in mid-December. Winter is cold and snowy. Ice fishing, ice boating, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling are common activities at Bald Eagle State Park when conditions permit, while Happy Acres Resort stays open year-round with winter water at campsites and access to more than 100 miles of marked snowmobile trails.

Bald Eagle State Park has two campgrounds plus the Nature Inn, and the park is open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset, with day-use areas closing at dusk. Quiet hours run from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., and each campsite is limited to one family unit or up to five unrelated persons. Cell service is unpredictable in and around many Pennsylvania state parks, so downloading the park map before arrival is recommended. Woodward Cave and Campground offers a level, grassy 13-acre camping area with electric and non-electric sites, a shower house, cabins, and a camp store. Happy Acres Resort offers primitive through full-hookup sites, rooms, cabins, and lodges, along with a swimming pool, game barn, laundry, on-site restaurant and store, and Wi-Fi across the property.
