Campgrounds and RV parks near Jersey Shore, PA

The Pine Creek Rail Trail is the signature draw. The rails-to-trails route runs along Pine Creek between the Wellsboro area and Jersey Shore. The trail is flat, gravel-surfaced, and suits family cycling, running, and cross-country skiing in winter. Trailheads at Waterville and Jersey Shore give quick access from most campgrounds on this list. On the water, Little Pine Lake and Halfway Lake at Raymond B Winter State Park support fishing, kayaking, and swimming from park beaches. Pine Creek is nearby for fishing and paddling, and the surrounding Tiadaghton and Bald Eagle state forests hold miles of hiking and mountain-bike trails. For structured activities with kids, Little Pine State Park offers a wide variety of programs from May through October, including guided walks and hands-on outdoor education.

Camping season in this part of Pennsylvania is anchored to the state park calendar. Private parks near Jersey Shore, including Holiday Pines Campground, Pine Village, and Happy Acres Resort, typically open earlier and close later than the state parks, but exact dates vary by operator. The Little Pine State Park campground opens in early April and closes in mid-December. The Raymond B Winter State Park campground opens the second Friday in April and closes in mid-December, though seasons may vary from year to year. Summer weekends and fall foliage weeks are the highest-demand periods. Booking well in advance is recommended, especially for summer weekends and fall visits when the parks are particularly popular. Spring brings high water on Pine Creek, useful for paddling but hard on low-lying tent sites. Winter access to the parks continues for day use. Both Little Pine and Raymond B Winter State Park are open year round for day visitors. Overnight facilities and beaches, however, close in the shoulder seasons, and cold-weather RV camping is limited to private parks with winter hookups.

State park sites here lean rustic. Little Pine State Park offers a modern campground with tent and trailer sites, most with electric hookups only and no water or sewer at the individual site. Water fill stations, a sanitary dump station, flush toilets, hot showers, a playground, and firewood sales are available at the campground, and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Raymond B Winter State Park has 61 campsites that accommodate tents, trailers, and motor homes. Most sites have electric hookups, and the campground includes flush toilets, warm showers, and a sanitary dump station. Private parks in the area, including Happy Acres Resort and Pine Village, generally offer more amenities such as partial- and full-hookup sites, laundry, and camp stores. Cell service is unpredictable in and around many Pennsylvania State Parks, so downloading maps and confirmations before arrival is wise.
