Eagle Pass has a hot semi-arid climate with long, very hot summers and short, mild winters. Average maximum daytime temperatures range from about 99°F in August to 64°F in January, and nights vary from around 75°F in August to about 39°F in the colder months. Peak RV season runs from October through April, when daytime highs are comfortable and overnight lows rarely drop below freezing. This window overlaps with the Winter Texan season, so monthly sites at private parks can book out well in advance. Summer, from June through early September, brings sustained triple-digit heat and strong sun. Sites with 50-amp service and shade become important, and midday activity outdoors is limited. Annual precipitation is around 21 inches, and the wettest months are typically May and September, with September averaging near 3.4 inches and May near 3.9 inches from scattered thunderstorms and occasional tropical moisture. Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for hiking, river fishing, and border-town day trips. Hunters also increase demand at area parks during the fall white-tailed deer season, which affects weekend availability.

Expect flat, gravel or caliche RV pads with full hookups at most private parks. The casino RV park offers back-in sites with full 30/50 amp water, sewer, and electric, and most other parks in the area follow a similar pattern. Sites are functional rather than scenic, and shade is limited outside of parks with mature mesquite or planted trees. Cell coverage is generally reliable in and around town on major carriers. Eagle Pass is a working border city, so travelers should carry a passport if planning to cross into Piedras Negras and should follow current State Department guidance on border travel. Fuel, groceries, and RV supplies are available in town, but specialized RV parts may require a run to Del Rio or San Antonio. Summer heat is the main planning factor. Confirm that a rig's air conditioning matches the park's amp service, and plan arrivals for morning or evening rather than midafternoon.
