Campgrounds and RV parks near Eidson Road, TX

Eidson Road is a census-designated place in Maverick County, Texas, sitting just outside Eagle Pass on the Rio Grande border with Mexico. The area serves as a practical staging point for RV travelers heading to South Texas brush country, the Rio Grande, and Lake Amistad about an hour northwest near Del Rio. RV options in the immediate vicinity lean toward compact, hookup-focused parks rather than large destination resorts. Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Hotel operates an adjacent RV park with 20 back-in sites equipped with full 30/50 amp, water, sewer, and electric hookups. Nearby private parks include SB- RV Park, Triple R Resort RV Park, and RV Barn Campground. Hidden Valley RV Park, Del Rio, Texas sits farther northwest, closer to Lake Amistad. San Antonio is the closest metro, around 150 miles away, so most trips through Eidson Road are either border-crossing stopovers, casino stays, or extended bass-fishing trips built around Amistad Reservoir.

Private parks in the Eagle Pass and Eidson Road area typically take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites, and most operate year-round. The Kickapoo Lucky Eagle RV Park accepts reservations up to 120 days in advance with a maximum stay of 14 days, and requires a 50 percent deposit at booking; reservations made within 72 hours of arrival must be paid in full. For Amistad National Recreation Area campgrounds near Del Rio, use Recreation.gov for group sites and check individual facility pages for booking windows. Several Amistad campgrounds, including Governors Landing, San Pedro, and 277 North, are first-come, first-served. Snowbird demand along the Rio Grande from January through March can fill full-hookup sites weeks ahead, so book early for peak winter stays.
