Great van and super host. The van is clean new and well equipped. Chantal was generous and very flexible. Clearly she wanted us to have a nice time. We did!

Myles E. - May 2026

Chantale was an excellent Host! She thought of everything you would need for your RV trip, from toiletries, to cleaning supplies. I didn't have to worry that I forgot to pack something. We had lots of communication before our trip, and she was very accommodating. The RV itself was good on fuel, which was a selling point on my 3000km adventure. The fridge worked well, and the AC was a plus on hot days. Also the heater helped on the cooler nights. She gave me a very thorough walkthrough before leaving with the RV, which is why I left with confidence on my journey.

Private campgrounds like KOA Montreal South and Camping Alouette typically book 2 to 4 months ahead for peak weekends. Reserve through reservation.sepaq.com for provincial parks and reservation.pc.gc.ca for any national park stops on your route. Insider tip: weekday arrivals (Sunday to Wednesday) are far easier to book and often $5 to $10 per night cheaper than Friday or Saturday check-ins.
sepaq.com/reservation/index.dot?language_id=1

Driving is genuinely easy here, Carignan sits in flat farmland just off Autoroute 10 and Route 112, with no mountain passes or steep grades to worry about. Greater Montreal traffic is the main thing to plan around: avoid the Champlain Bridge between 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and use the Highway 30 bypass to skip downtown entirely. Watch for posted height clearances (most Quebec underpasses are 4.0 to 4.2 meters; standard motorhomes are 3.4 to 3.7 m). Winter brings snow, ice, and mandatory winter tires from December 1 to March 15. Pro tip: download the Quebec 511 app for real-time road, weather, and construction updates on your route.
quebec511.info/en/default.aspx

You'll find dump stations along Autoroute 20 and 10 rest areas as well. Pro tip: top up your fresh water tank before leaving Carignan (any host with a hose bib can help) and dump grey/black tanks at your campground's free station before checkout, this saves you from paying $10 to $15 at commercial dump points.

How do payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Carignan through RVezy, you pay by credit card directly on the platform, no cash, e-transfers, or off-platform payments. Most hosts also place a refundable security deposit hold on your card (typically several hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV class), which is separate from your booking payment and released after return assuming no damage or extra cleaning is required. To avoid deposit issues, do a thorough video walkaround with your host at pickup and return, refill fuel and propane to the same levels, and empty the holding tanks if your contract requires it.
