2019 Leisure Travel Vans Class B
Vincent, I wanted to reach out and give a special shoutout to you and your beautiful travel van. My girlfriend and I recently spent a weekend at Bartlett Lake and were blown away by how easy it was to book the reservation, as well as your clear and quick communication. Regarding the trip itself, our setup was by far the best-looking one at the site. The van is beautiful on the outside, and the interior was spotless, comfortable, and equipped with appliances in tip-top shape. The bed and provided linens were very comfortable, and the showers were nice and hot. As a first-time RV driver, I also found the vehicle very easy and smooth to operate. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. We highly recommend your van to anyone looking to camp in style. Thank you again for such an amazing experience! Best regards, Chris Skuda

Patrick is the best. His RV is the very best value in Maricopa County Arizona. Trust me, I checked throughout the county. We didn’t lack for anything, including a variety of powered cords. Patrick thought of everything. He’s friendly, helpful, easy to work with and flexible. He has great communication. He exceeded our expectations upon pick. Thank you again Patrick!

I have rented Ian's sprinter van multiple times and I know I will rent it many more times in the near future! Its an incredible van capable of going anywhere worth going, with immense comfort and everything very well planned out. The Starlink is also a huge upgrade from my usual camping experience; we had flawless high speed internet in the grand canyon, of all places. And the bed is shockingly comfortable, might be better than my bed at home. I would recommend this van to first-timers, seasoned campers, and everyone in between.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Anthem, AZ?

Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Anthem, AZ. Arizona does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers, even larger Class A coaches. You'll just need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the booking platform, so there's no extra paperwork on pickup day. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Anthem?

Yes, RV delivery Anthem is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a 30-foot motorhome through Phoenix traffic. Many Anthem hosts will deliver and set up your rental at Lake Pleasant Regional Park, Cave Creek Regional Park, Pleasant Harbor RV Resort, or even straight to your driveway or short-term rental in the Anthem Country Club area. They'll level the RV, connect hookups, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Use the Delivery filter when browsing listings to see which hosts offer it, along with their per-mile rates. Pro tip: delivery fees are often cheaper than you'd expect for nearby Maricopa County campgrounds.

How far can I drive on a typical RV rental from Anthem, AZ?

Plenty far for an unforgettable trip. Each Anthem host sets their own mileage policy, and you'll see it clearly on every listing, some include generous daily mileage and a handful even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage. From Anthem, popular RV road trip from Anthem routes include Sedona (about 90 miles north), Flagstaff (120 miles), the Grand Canyon South Rim (about 200 miles), Lake Havasu (180 miles west), and Tucson (150 miles south). If you're planning a longer loop, filter for unlimited-mileage listings or message the host to negotiate a custom package. Pro tip: a 5 to 7 day rental easily covers an Anthem to Sedona to Grand Canyon loop with time to actually enjoy each stop.

Where are the best campgrounds near Anthem, AZ?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to best campgrounds near Anthem. Top picks include Lake Pleasant Regional Park (about 20 miles west, with electric hookups and lake views), Pleasant Harbor RV Resort (full hookups, marina, and a pool), Cave Creek Regional Park (about 20 miles east with desert trails and 30/50 amp sites), Black Canyon Campground in Black Canyon City (15 minutes north off I-17), and Desert's Edge RV Village in north Phoenix (full hookups, ideal for big rigs). Pro tip: Lake Pleasant's campsites overlook Arizona's second-largest lake and sell out fast in spring, so reserve through the Maricopa County Parks reservation system as soon as your dates are locked.

When is the best time of year for an Anthem RV trip?

The sweet spot for an Anthem RV trip is mid-October through mid-April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 65 to 80 degree range and overnight temperatures rarely dip below the mid-40s. This is also peak snowbird season, so book early. Spring (March and April) brings wildflower blooms across the Sonoran Desert and is hands down the prettiest time to visit. Summers in Anthem are intensely hot, regularly topping 105 to 110 degrees from June through August, which is why many travelers use an RV to escape north to the cooler high country around Flagstaff. Pro tip: late September and early October are an underrated value window with warm days, cool nights, and lower rental prices.
weather.gov/psr/

I've never driven an RV before. Is it really doable from Anthem?

Absolutely, and Anthem is one of the easier places in Arizona to start. If it's your first time renting an RV, your host gives a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, hookups, slide-outs, and tank dumping, plus they're a text message away during the trip. Anthem itself sits right on I-17, a wide modern interstate with gentle grades heading both north toward Sedona and south toward Phoenix, so you'll get comfortable behind the wheel quickly. Many guests skip city driving entirely by choosing delivery to their campground. Pro tip: pick a Class C motorhome or travel trailer for your first trip, they handle more like a large truck than an intimidating bus.

What happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?

You're covered: every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're parked at Lake Pleasant, climbing the I-17 grade toward Sunset Point, or boondocking on BLM land north of Anthem. Roadside support handles flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service location. Your host is also a direct resource for quick questions about quirks of their specific rig. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number in your phone before you leave Anthem, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate so you have everything ready if you ever need to call in.

Can I take my RV rental across state lines or into Mexico?

Cross-state road trips are absolutely welcome, RV rental Arizona bookings on RVezy can typically cross into Nevada, Utah, California, New Mexico, and Colorado, opening up incredible loops like Anthem to Zion (about 425 miles) or Anthem to Las Vegas (290 miles). Travel into Mexico, however, is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the included protection package and insurance don't extend across the border. If you're planning a multi-state route, just give your host a heads up before booking so they can confirm any mileage or destination preferences. Pro tip: the Anthem to Grand Canyon to Page to Monument Valley loop is a bucket-list Southwest RV trip that easily fits in 7 to 10 days.

How much should I budget for fuel from Anthem?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on any RV road trip from Anthem, so it's smart to plan ahead. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (mpg), Class C motorhomes around 10 to 14 mpg, and Class A coaches roughly 7 to 10 mpg, while gas-pulled travel trailers typically drop your tow vehicle to 10 to 13 mpg. Arizona gas prices generally run a bit below the national average, with stations along I-17 in Anthem and Black Canyon City often offering competitive rates. Pro tip: fuel up in Anthem before heading north, prices climb noticeably once you pass Sunset Point and start the climb toward Flagstaff, where elevation and remoteness push costs higher.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Anthem?

Earlier is always better, especially for the prime October to April window. Lake Pleasant Regional Park and Cave Creek Regional Park, both Maricopa County parks, accept reservations up to six months in advance through the official Maricopa County Parks reservation system, and peak weekend sites often book out months ahead. Private parks like Pleasant Harbor RV Resort and Desert's Edge RV Village typically open bookings 9 to 12 months out. For summer (when locals head north), 2 to 4 weeks ahead is usually plenty. Pro tip: if you're flexible, Sunday through Thursday arrivals at Lake Pleasant are far easier to snag than Friday or Saturday, and you'll often score a better site too.

What are the driving conditions like around Anthem, AZ?

Driving an RV around Anthem is genuinely beginner-friendly. I-17, the main artery through town, is a wide, well-maintained interstate with truck climbing lanes on the steeper grades north toward Black Canyon City and Sunset Point. The biggest things to plan for are summer heat (which can stress tires and cooling systems, so drive early mornings in July and August), monsoon thunderstorms from July through September that bring brief but intense downpours and dust storms (haboobs), and steep grades both directions on I-17 between Anthem and Flagstaff. Pro tip: if a dust storm hits, pull completely off the road, turn off your lights, and wait it out, Arizona Department of Transportation calls this the 'Pull Aside, Stay Alive' protocol.
azdot.gov/adot-blog/dust-storms-arizona-pull-aside-stay-alive

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Anthem?

Most developed campgrounds within an hour of Anthem offer the full setup you'd expect for comfortable RV camping Anthem: electric hookups (30/50 amp), water, and a mix of full-hookup or dry sites. Lake Pleasant Regional Park has electric and water at most sites plus dump stations, showers, and flush restrooms. Pleasant Harbor RV Resort offers full hookups, a pool, marina access, and a small store. Cave Creek Regional Park has 30/50 amp electric and water, plus dump stations. For dispersed BLM camping north of Anthem, you'll be fully self-contained, so fill fresh water in Anthem before heading out. Pro tip: the Pilot Travel Center at the Anthem I-17 exit has a dump station and potable water, ideal for a quick top-off before or after your trip.
blm.gov/visit/search-details/253611/2

What's typically included inside an Anthem RV rental?

You'll be impressed by what's already packed and ready. A typical motorhome rental Anthem or travel trailer on RVezy comes with a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink, cookware, and dishes), a bathroom with toilet and shower, sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on the rig, climate control with air conditioning (essential here), a furnace, and seatbelted seating for travel. Most listings also include a TV, and many have generators, solar, outdoor speakers, awnings, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Bedding and kitchen kits are often offered as add-ons. Pro tip: filter by 'Sleeps' count to match your group, and look for listings that include linens to save packing space, a huge win when flying into Phoenix Sky Harbor for your Anthem pickup.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about for an Anthem RV rental?

Anthem hosts offer a great range of extras to make your trip easier. Common add-ons include camp chairs, outdoor grills, generators, bike racks, kayak/paddleboard packages (perfect for Lake Pleasant), bedding and kitchen kits, and even fully-stocked starter food packages. Each listing shows mileage and generator policies upfront, daily mileage caps usually range from 100 to 150 miles with overage fees clearly listed, and a few hosts offer unlimited mileage for longer trips. Pickup is usually at the host's Anthem home; dropoff at a different location may be possible if you message the host first. Pro tip: bundle delivery with a setup package and you can arrive at Lake Pleasant with the RV already leveled, hooked up, and ready to enjoy.
visitarizona.com/places/cities/anthem/

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Anthem?

Booking is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy at the time of booking using a credit or debit card, and your funds are held by the platform rather than going straight to the host, which protects everyone. A refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before pickup (the amount is shown clearly on each listing) and is released back to you after the trip, assuming no damage or extra fees like missed dump or fuel. Pro tip: do a thorough walkaround video at pickup and dropoff with your host, it's the single best way to keep your security deposit return smooth and hassle-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

How do I handle the Arizona summer heat in an RV?

Smart planning makes summer in an Anthem rental totally manageable, and shoulder months are an absolute steal price-wise. Drive early mornings (before 10 a.m.) when temperatures are coolest and tires are happiest, park with the awning side facing south for natural shade, and choose campgrounds with hookups so you can run rooftop AC nonstop, Lake Pleasant and Pleasant Harbor both offer this. Stock more water than you think you'll need (one gallon per person per day minimum), and watch for monsoon thunderstorms July through September. Pro tip: if you want to escape the heat entirely, an RV road trip from Anthem to Flagstaff (about 120 miles, 7,000 feet elevation) drops daytime temps by 25 to 30 degrees, locals call it 'going up the hill.'
