Very simple to book, reserve, communicate, meet-up, operate, return, etc. I would recommend to all! Perfect size RV and amenities for what I was looking for. Family of five. We had everything we needed, with nothing too fancy that may be difficult to operate or take away from the camping experience.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in New Lenox, IL
How much does it cost to rent an RV in New Lenox, IL?
RV rental in New Lenox is one of the more affordable ways to explore the Chicago metro and central Illinois. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes between $175 and $275 per night, and luxury Class A rigs at $300 and up per night. Add-ons like generators, camping chairs, or bedding packages usually run $5 to $25 each. To find a cheap RV rental in New Lenox, book midweek, travel in the shoulder months of April or October, and look for hosts offering weekly discounts. Filter by price on RVezy, then message the host with your dates to lock in your booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=New%20Lenox%2C%20IllinoisDo I need a special license to rent an RV in New Lenox?
Good news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in New Lenox for most travel trailers, campervans, and Class C motorhomes under 16,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Illinois ties license class to weight, but the vast majority of RVs on RVezy fall under the standard Class D license you already carry. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and the platform verifies your ID during checkout. Visiting from another country? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP). If you want the simplest, most car-like driving experience, filter for Class B campervans or smaller travel trailers.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs my New Lenox RV rental protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in New Lenox booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into your reservation. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the vehicle, giving you peace of mind whether you're heading to Starved Rock or parking at a Will County campground. During checkout you'll choose between coverage levels so you can match the plan to your comfort zone, budget, and RV size. This is not traditional auto insurance, but it's designed specifically for peer-to-peer RV rentals. Hit the road knowing the essentials are handled.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my New Lenox RV trip?
You can book with confidence because RVezy backs every reservation with a clear cancellation policy, including a full money-back grace period right after booking. If weather, work, or life changes your plans, the refund amount depends on how far out you are from your trip start date, with extra protections built in for situations like natural disasters. Since Illinois weather can swing quickly in spring and late fall, that flexibility matters. The cancellation policy is set by RVezy and applies consistently across every listing. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best New Lenox RVs, knowing you have built-in flexibility if plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a New Lenox RV rental?
Yes, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental in New Lenox. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see every listing that welcomes your four-legged copilot. Once you're rolling, New Lenox sits next to dog-loving green spaces like Hickory Creek Preserve and the Old Plank Road Trail, which is leashed-pet friendly for miles of paved walking. State parks like Kankakee River State Park and Starved Rock allow leashed dogs on most trails, making them excellent day trips. Message your host before booking to confirm any pet fee, then pack a tie-out, water bowl, and your pup's favorite blanket for a stress-free family RV trip New Lenox style.
dnr.illinois.gov/parks/park.kankakeeriver.htmlCan the RV be delivered to my campground or home in New Lenox?
Yes, RV delivery New Lenox is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drive the rig to your driveway, a nearby campground like Hollywood Casino RV Resort in Joliet, or a state park, then level it, hook up utilities, and walk you through every system. No backing into a tight site, no figuring out the sewer hose alone. Use the Delivery filter when you search, and check the listing for the host's per-mile delivery fee. It's the easiest way to step into RV camping New Lenox without ever towing a thing.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=New%20Lenox%2C%20IllinoisHow far can I drive on a New Lenox RV trip?
You've got serious range from New Lenox, and many hosts even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage so you can roam freely. Popular RV road trip from New Lenox routes include Starved Rock State Park (about 75 miles west), Indiana Dunes National Park (about 60 miles east), Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (about 90 miles north), Galena in northwest Illinois (about 175 miles northwest), and the Mississippi River town of Hannibal, Missouri (about 280 miles southwest). Each host sets a daily mileage allowance, often 100 to 150 free miles per day plus a small per-mile charge after that. Check the listing's mileage policy before booking, or message the host to ask about an unlimited package for a longer Illinois RV adventure.
idot.illinois.gov/travel-information/illinois-scenic-byways.htmlWhere are the best campgrounds near New Lenox, IL?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to best campgrounds near New Lenox. Hollywood Casino Hotel and RV Resort in Joliet (about 10 miles away) offers full hookups, showers, and easy access to dining. Camp Bullfrog Lake in Willow Springs is a Forest Preserves of Cook County favorite with trail access and lakeside sites. Kankakee River State Park, about 30 miles south, has shaded sites along the river plus a dump station and electric hookups. Des Plaines Fish and Wildlife Area to the west offers quieter, rustic camping. Reserve Illinois state park sites at camp.exploremoreil.com up to six months ahead. Pro tip: summer weekends fill fast, so book as soon as you confirm your RV.
dnr.illinois.gov/parks/camp/reservation-information.htmlWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from New Lenox?
Late spring through early fall is prime time, with the sweet spot running from mid-May through early October when daytime highs typically sit between 70F and 84F. July is the warmest month, averaging around 84F highs and great for swimming at nearby Lake Michigan beaches in Indiana Dunes. September and early October bring golden prairie colors, lower humidity, and cooler nights perfect for campfires, plus thinner crowds at Starved Rock's canyons. Winters in New Lenox are genuinely cold, with January lows around 17F and highs near 33F, so most campgrounds run April through October. For the best combination of weather and availability, target the weeks just after Memorial Day or right before Columbus Day weekend.
weather.gov/lot/I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in New Lenox really doable for a first-timer?
Yes, first time renting an RV in New Lenox is easier than most people expect. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the dashboard, awning, slide-outs, propane, water hookups, and dump procedure before you leave the driveway. Many New Lenox hosts even offer delivery so the RV is set up and ready when you arrive at the campground. For your first trip, choose a smaller Class C motorhome or travel trailer, stick to a nearby destination like Hollywood Casino RV Resort in Joliet or Kankakee River State Park for an easy 30 to 75 minute drive, and message your host with questions through the RVezy app anytime. You've got this.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002088734-Renter-GuideWhat if something breaks down during my New Lenox RV trip?
Breathe easy: every motorhome rental New Lenox booking on RVezy comes with 24/7 roadside assistance included in your protection plan. If you get a flat near Interstate 80, a battery dies at Camp Bullfrog Lake, or the fridge stops cooling on the way to Starved Rock, one call gets help dispatched to your location. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip, and you can message your host directly through the app for quick troubleshooting tips that often solve the problem in minutes. Save the RVezy support number in your phone before pickup, and you'll have backup at every turn of your Illinois adventure.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my New Lenox RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is welcome and one of the best parts of an RV road trip from New Lenox. You're perfectly positioned for multi-state adventures: Indiana Dunes is 60 miles east, Wisconsin's Lake Geneva is 90 miles north, and Michigan's beach towns sit just a few hours away. Many hosts also allow trips into Canada with advance notice, though insurance and protection coverage details vary by listing, so message the host before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because coverage doesn't extend there. For a classic Midwest loop, plan New Lenox to Indiana Dunes to Holland, Michigan, and back, all within an easy weeklong itinerary.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a New Lenox RV trip?
Fuel is the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan for. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), travel trailers tow at 10 to 14 MPG depending on the tow vehicle, and Class B campervans can hit 18 to 22 MPG. With Illinois gas typically running above the national average, a 300-mile round trip in a Class C might run around $100 to $150 in fuel at current prices. To save, fill up just outside the city near I-80 in places like Mokena or Joliet where prices often beat Chicago-area pumps, and use GasBuddy to spot the best stations along your route. Diesel pushers and larger Class A rigs will burn more, so budget accordingly.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds for my New Lenox RV trip?
Sooner is always better, especially for summer weekends. Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) campgrounds like Starved Rock and Kankakee River State Park open reservations six months in advance through camp.exploremoreil.com, and prime weekend sites at Starved Rock often sell out the moment they open. Private parks like Hollywood Casino RV Resort typically book three to six months ahead for peak season. For Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekends, IDNR campgrounds enforce minimum-night stays and reservation fees, so review current details when booking. Pro tip: lock in your RV on RVezy first, then immediately reserve your campsite for the same dates so everything lines up perfectly.
dnr.illinois.gov/parks/camp/reservation-information.htmlWhat are driving conditions like around New Lenox?
You'll find driving around New Lenox refreshingly RV-friendly: the terrain is mostly flat with elevations rarely topping 700 feet, and major routes like Interstate 80, Interstate 355, and US Route 30 give you easy escapes from the Chicago metro. Try to avoid I-80 and I-294 during weekday rush hours (6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.) when traffic backs up around Joliet and the south suburbs. Watch height clearances on older bridges if you head into downtown Chicago, but on country routes south and west of New Lenox, you'll cruise easily. Illinois posts a 70 mph max on most rural interstates and lower limits on other highways, perfect for relaxed RV cruising speeds.
idot.illinois.gov/travel-information/road-conditions.htmlWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near New Lenox?
Most campgrounds near New Lenox offer a comfortable mix of services. Hollywood Casino RV Resort in Joliet has full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric), clean showers, and laundry. Starved Rock State Park provides electric sites with paved pads, water hydrants throughout the campground, shower houses with flush toilets, and a dump station. Kankakee River State Park offers electric hookups, water fill stations, and dump access for paid campers. Most private parks include on-site dump stations with your stay, while state parks include them with your campsite fee. Pro tip: top off freshwater before leaving the campground, because finding fill stations along Illinois back roads can be hit or miss.
dnr.illinois.gov/Parks/Pages/StarvedRock.aspxWhat's actually inside a typical New Lenox RV rental?
You'll be impressed by how complete these rigs are. A typical campervan rental New Lenox or Class C motorhome includes a real bed (often queen-size), a kitchen with a fridge, freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink, and basic cookware, plus a wet bath with toilet and shower. Most have rooftop air conditioning, a furnace, a dinette that converts to extra sleeping space, and seatbelts for travel (always confirm the seatbelt count matches your group). Many hosts include extras like outdoor camp chairs, a portable grill, leveling blocks, a sewer hose, and basic linens. Generators, Wi-Fi hotspots, and TVs vary by listing, so check the amenities section or message the host. Pack light and personal items only.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safetyWhat add-ons and pickup options can I expect from New Lenox hosts?
New Lenox hosts offer a great mix of customizations to make your trip easier. Common add-ons include generators ($25 to $50 per day), bedding and towel packages ($25 to $75 per trip), camping kits with chairs and tables ($25 to $50), portable grills, kayaks, bike racks, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Pickup is usually at the host's address in or near New Lenox, but many offer delivery within 25 to 50 miles for a per-mile fee, dropping the RV at Hollywood Casino RV Resort, Kankakee River State Park, or wherever you're headed. Mileage policies typically include 100 to 150 free miles per day, with extras around $0.25 to $0.50 per mile. Always confirm pickup time, return time, and add-ons in the message thread before booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=New%20Lenox%2C%20IllinoisHow does payment and the security deposit work for a New Lenox RV rental?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides of the booking. At booking you'll pay the rental total plus your chosen protection plan and any add-ons. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is held on your card a few days before pickup and released within a few days of return, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition you got it in. To avoid deposit issues, take dated photos of the interior and exterior at pickup and again at drop-off, return with a full fuel tank, and empty the holding tanks if your agreement requires it.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhere can I park an RV overnight in New Lenox itself?
Here's the local insider scoop: the Village of New Lenox limits where and how long recreational vehicles can be parked, with restrictions on street parking and seasonal rules for residential driveways. That means if you're renting from a New Lenox host, plan to head straight to a campground or use a delivery host who'll bring the rig directly to your destination. The closest overnight-friendly options are Hollywood Casino RV Resort in Joliet (about 10 miles), Camp Bullfrog Lake in Willow Springs (about 20 miles), and Des Plaines Fish and Wildlife Area. For a hassle-free start, book delivery and skip the parking puzzle entirely.
