Mathew was awesome. Very friendly guy. We requested a delivery for his camper and by the time we got to the campgrounds at the agreed upon time to meet him at the entrance and show him where to setup.. he already had the camper completely ready to go on our site and was just waiting for us to arrive. Trailer was perfect. Looks brand new, clean, and everything worked with no issues. We will definitely give him repeat business. Highly recommend. Would give 6 stars if possible.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Falmouth, MA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Falmouth, MA?

An RV rental in Falmouth, MA is often more affordable than you would expect for Cape Cod. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $100 to $175 per night, campervans run roughly $175 to $250, and larger Class A or Class C motorhomes range from $225 to $400 per night, depending on season and amenities. You save the most by booking shoulder season (May, June, September, October), when Cape Cod rates drop noticeably compared to July and August peaks. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Falmouth?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Falmouth, MA. Massachusetts does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal motorhomes or travel trailers used recreationally, even larger Class A coaches. You need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the platform during booking, so there is no extra paperwork. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP), which most auto associations issue for under $25. That is it, you are cleared to cruise the Cape Cod Canal and Route 28A.

Absolutely, Cape Cod is one of New England's most dog-friendly destinations, and a pet-friendly RV rental in Falmouth makes it easy to bring the whole family. Just filter for Pet-Friendly on RVezy to see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) in their RVs. Once you arrive, your pup will love off-season beach access at Old Silver Beach and Surf Drive Beach (dogs allowed before May 1 and after September 15), plus year-round trails at Beebe Woods and the Shining Sea Bikeway, which is leash-friendly along its full 10.7-mile route. Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Falmouth?

Yes, and it is the easiest way to start a Cape Cod trip. Many Falmouth hosts offer RV delivery, meaning they will tow or drive the RV directly to your campground, a friend's driveway, or a Bourne or Sandwich site, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through everything before handing over the keys. This is perfect if it is your first time renting an RV or you would rather skip towing across the Sagamore Bridge. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to find Falmouth hosts who provide RV delivery to nearby campgrounds like Bourne Scenic Park or Shawme-Crowell State Forest. Pro tip: ask about a setup-included rate, many hosts bundle delivery, setup, and pickup into one flat fee.

You have a whole region to explore. Most Falmouth RV hosts include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 miles per day), and many offer RV rental with unlimited mileage as an upgrade or weekly perk. Where are the best campgrounds near Falmouth for RV camping?

You are spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Falmouth. Top picks within roughly a 30-minute drive include Bourne Scenic Park (right on the Cape Cod Canal with full hookups and canal-side sites), Shawme-Crowell State Forest in Sandwich (large wooded campground, no hookups but family-friendly), Peters Pond RV Resort in Sandwich (freshwater swimming, full hookups, family pool), and Scusset Beach State Reservation just across the canal (beach access and electric sites). Sweetwater Forest in Brewster (about 45 minutes east) is another solid pond-side option. Pro tip: book Bourne Scenic Park and Shawme-Crowell as early as January for summer weekends, the Cape's best sites can fill 5 to 6 months in advance.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Falmouth?

Falmouth shines from mid-May through mid-October, but September is the local favorite. Summer highs run in the mid-70s to mid-80s°F with ocean temps reaching 68 to 72°F, while spring (50s to low 70s) and fall (60s to low 70s) bring fewer crowds and easier campground bookings. After Labor Day, traffic over the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges eases dramatically and the ocean stays swimmable into mid-September. Winters are cool (highs in the 30s and 40s), and some campgrounds close November through April. Pro tip: target the second week of September for warm beaches, open restaurants, and 30 to 50 percent savings on your RV rental Massachusetts adventure.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Falmouth?

You've got this, and you won't be alone. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup (or at delivery), walking through driving, the propane system, water, slide-outs, and dump procedures so nothing's a mystery. Falmouth is actually a great spot for first time renting an RV because the main routes (Route 28, Route 28A, and Route 151) are flat, well-marked, and built for tourist traffic. Avoid the narrow village center of Woods Hole with a big rig and you're golden. Pro tip: pick up your RV mid-morning on a weekday, do a slow practice loop around the Falmouth Mall parking lot, then head straight to your campground while you're still fresh.

What if something goes wrong with the RV on Cape Cod?

You will not be stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering things like flat tires, battery jumps, lockouts, and towing if the RV will not start. One call connects you to a dispatcher who will send help to wherever you are on the Cape, whether that is the Mid-Cape Highway, a Falmouth driveway, or a remote site at Nickerson State Park. Your host is also a quick text away for questions about quirks specific to their RV. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number and your host's number in your phone before you leave Falmouth, then enjoy your trip knowing backup is one tap away.

Can I take my Falmouth RV rental into Canada or other states?

Yes, with one quick conversation. Many Falmouth hosts allow interstate travel throughout New England and beyond, so a multi-state RV road trip from Falmouth to Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine is very doable. Cross-border trips into Canada (think Nova Scotia or Quebec via Maine) may also be allowed, but you must confirm directly with your host before booking because insurance coverage varies by destination. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Pro tip: message your host with your full route, including overnight stops, before you book so they can confirm coverage and any extra mileage. Popular multi-state loops from Falmouth include the Coastal New England route through Newport, Mystic, and the Berkshires.

What should I budget for fuel during my Cape Cod RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier costs to predict for an RV rental in Falmouth. Massachusetts gas prices typically run a bit above the national average, and as of 2025–2026 you can plan on roughly $3.20 to $3.70 per gallon for regular. Class B campervans get about 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A coaches 6 to 10 MPG; travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. For a typical 5-day Cape Cod loop covering 300 to 400 miles, budget $100 to $250 for fuel. Pro tip: the Cumberland Farms on Route 28 in Falmouth and the Stop & Shop fuel station in Bourne usually beat highway prices, fill up before you head off-Cape.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Falmouth?

Earlier than you think, especially for summer. Massachusetts state campgrounds like Shawme-Crowell State Forest and Scusset Beach State Reservation open reservations 6 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and prime July and August weekends often book within hours of release. Private parks like Bourne Scenic Park and Peters Pond RV Resort take reservations even earlier, sometimes close to a year out. For shoulder-season trips (May, June, September, October), 4 to 8 weeks ahead is usually fine. Pro tip: if summer dates are gone, look at Sunday-through-Thursday stays, midweek sites at Cape Cod campgrounds are often wide open even in peak July, and rates are lower too.

What are the driving conditions like around Falmouth?

Driving around Falmouth is genuinely easy compared to most coastal vacation towns. The main arteries (Route 28, Route 151, and Route 28A) are flat and RV-friendly, and the Cape Cod Canal bridges (Sagamore and Bourne) have plenty of clearance for any RV. The catch is summer Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon traffic over the bridges, which can back up 30 to 60 minutes. Avoid Woods Hole village in anything larger than a campervan, the streets are narrow and ferry-bound. Pro tip: cross the bridges before 10 AM on Friday or after 8 PM Sunday, you'll cut your travel time in half and start your Falmouth RV trip relaxed.

What hookups and amenities will I find at Cape Cod campgrounds?

Most campgrounds near Falmouth are well equipped for any motorhome rental Falmouth trip. Private parks like Bourne Scenic Park, Peters Pond RV Resort, and Cape Cod Campresort offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer) and on-site dump stations. State campgrounds like Shawme-Crowell are more rustic, you'll have a fire ring and picnic table but no individual hookups, with a centralized dump station and potable water fill. For dumping or filling tanks between trips, Bourne Scenic Park has a public dump station you can use for a small fee. Pro tip: book a full-hookup site for your first night so you can plug in, fill water, and learn the systems in comfort before any boondocking.
mass.gov/locations/nickerson-state-park-campground

What's inside a typical Falmouth RV rental?

More than you'd expect. A typical campervan rental Falmouth includes a queen or convertible bed, a 2-burner stove, fridge, sink, and often a wet bath; Class C motorhomes sleep 5 to 7 with a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, dinette, and roof AC; Class A and fifth wheels add slide-outs, residential fridges, sometimes washer/dryer, and 40-inch TVs. Most Falmouth listings include a generator or solar for off-grid power, propane for cooking and heat, and seatbelted seating for everyone traveling. Many hosts toss in starter kits with linens, pots, pans, and coffee makers. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count on RVezy to match your group size exactly, and check the listing photos for outdoor shower, that's a Cape Cod beach-trip game changer.

What add-ons and options do Falmouth hosts typically offer?

Falmouth hosts make customizing your trip simple. Common add-ons include delivery and setup ($2 to $5 per mile is typical, or a flat fee within Cape Cod), bedding and kitchen packages ($50 to $100 per trip), bike racks, beach chairs, kayaks, propane tanks pre-filled, and generator hours for boondocking. Mileage policies usually allow 100 to 150 miles per day with overages around $0.35 to $0.50 per mile, and many hosts offer unlimited-mileage upgrades for longer trips. Pickup and dropoff are typically scheduled windows (often 1 PM pickup, 11 AM return) at the host's home or a Falmouth-area meeting point. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a bedding kit, you'll save money versus booking each separately, and arrival becomes practically effortless.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is straightforward and secure through RVezy. You pay your booking total (rental, fees, protection plan) by credit or debit card when you book, no cash exchanged with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately and released back to your card after the host confirms the RV is returned in good shape. To avoid any deposit issues on your Falmouth RV trip, take date-stamped photos at pickup and dropoff, return with a similar fuel level, dump the tanks if your agreement requires it, and clean up the interior. Pro tip: ask your host at orientation what their top three deposit-return checklist items are, then knock them out before handoff.

Where can I park an RV overnight in Falmouth besides campgrounds?

You have a few smart options around Falmouth. Overnight street parking is not allowed in most of Cape Cod's towns, including Falmouth, between 12 AM and 6 AM from May through September, so plan to be at a campground or a private driveway. The Bourne and Sandwich rest areas along Route 6 do not allow overnight RV parking either. What does work: stay with friends or family with their permission, book a campsite at Bourne Scenic Park or Scusset Beach State Reservation just over the canal, or use Harvest Hosts memberships at participating Cape wineries and farms. Pro tip: for a quick stopover before a ferry to Martha's Vineyard, book one night at Otis Trailer Village in Bourne, it's 15 minutes from the Woods Hole ferry terminal.
