2018 Thor Motor Coach Class C
This was our very first time renting an RV, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we booked, our host, Binbin, was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. Anytime I had a question—no matter how small—I could call or message him, and he was always quick to answer. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. By the time we left, I felt like an RV pro thanks to him! The RV itself was absolutely beautiful, spotless, and exceptionally well maintained. It was comfortable, spacious, and had everything my family needed for an amazing trip. You can tell Binbin truly takes pride in taking care of his RV and making sure his guests have a wonderful experience. This trip created memories we'll never forget, and a big part of that was because of how wonderful Binbin was as a host. I genuinely can't say enough good things about him. If you're considering renting an RV, I highly recommend this one. We will definitely be renting from Binbin again for our future trips. Thank you, Binbin, for making our first RV adventure so enjoyable, stress-free, and memorable!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Gladwin, MI
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Gladwin, MI?
RV rental in Gladwin is one of the most affordable ways to explore mid-Michigan's lakes and forests. On RVezy, motorhome rentals in Gladwin typically average around $200 per night, while travel trailers and towables run closer to $125 per night, and many hosts offer discounts for weekly or monthly bookings. To find a cheap RV rental in Gladwin, target late spring or after Labor Day when nightly rates and campsite fees both drop. Pro tip: filter for towable trailers and add the delivery option so you can skip towing entirely and keep your Gladwin RV trip budget-friendly for a family weekend at Ross Lake or Wixom Lake.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gladwin%2C%20MichiganWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Gladwin, Michigan?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Gladwin, Michigan. The State of Michigan does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers you'll find on RVezy. Approved renters on RVezy are generally 25 or older, and your ID is verified right inside the booking flow, so there's no extra paperwork to chase down. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) for peace of mind. That's it, you're cleared to roll out toward Sugar Springs or the Tittabawassee River.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection is included when I rent an RV in Gladwin?
Every RV rental in Gladwin booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built in, so you can hit M-61 with real peace of mind. Protection plans help cover physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you (the guest) choose your coverage level at checkout rather than the host picking for you. Pick the tier that matches your comfort, confirm your booking, and you're covered from the moment you pull away in Gladwin until you return the keys. First-time motorhome rental Gladwin guests especially love how stress-free this makes a Pure Michigan road trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Gladwin RV trip plans change?
You can book your Gladwin RV trip with confidence: RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform (not individual hosts), and there is a grace period after booking in case plans change quickly. The final refund depends on factors like how far out from your trip you cancel, and the current policy is always available on RVezy's Help Center before you confirm. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy refunds the guest or offers travel credit so you are not left stranded. Translation: there is a real safety net, so you can lock in that Wilson State Park weekend now and finalize details later.

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental Gladwin options are easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll instantly see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) in their rigs. Gladwin is a great dog destination too: Gladwin City Park & Campground allows leashed pets along the Cedar River, many Michigan state forest campgrounds nearby are pet-friendly, and the surrounding two-track forest roads are perfect for leashed exploring. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your dog's size and breed, ask about any cleaning fees, and confirm whether they provide an outdoor mat or leash hook at the awning.
michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/campingCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Gladwin?
Yes, RV delivery Gladwin is one of the most popular options on RVezy and the easiest way to skip the learning curve entirely. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV straight to your campsite at Gladwin City Park & Campground, River Valley RV Park, Sugar Springs, or a private property, then level it, hook up water and 30/50-amp power, and give you a full walkthrough before they leave. Check the Delivery filter when searching, then enter your campground address to see hosts who serve that location. It's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV, traveling with kids, or flying into MBS International Airport about an hour south.
gladwin.org/visitors/camping___lodging/city_park___campground/index.phpHow far can I drive on a Gladwin RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?
You've got tons of range from Gladwin, which sits roughly in the middle of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Many RVezy hosts offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, while others provide a generous daily allotment (often 100-150 miles per day) plus a per-mile rate beyond that, all shown clearly on each listing. From Gladwin you can reach Traverse City in about 2.5 hours, Mackinaw City in roughly 3.5 hours, Sleeping Bear Dunes in about 3 hours, and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in around 6 hours. Pro tip: if you're planning a big RV road trip from Gladwin up to the Upper Peninsula, filter for unlimited mileage upfront to keep budgeting simple.
michigan.org/road-tripsWhere are the best campgrounds near Gladwin, MI for RV camping?
The best campgrounds near Gladwin cover every style of RV camping Gladwin offers. Gladwin City Park & Campground sits right on the Cedar River downtown with electric sites, showers, a sandy beach, and bike paths during the summer season. River Valley RV Park has full-hookup sites across wooded acreage with a private lake. Sugar Springs Campground offers 30/50-amp service near Sugar Springs lakes. For a rustic forest feel, nearby Michigan state forest campgrounds welcome a range of rig sizes. Wilson State Park on Budd Lake in nearby Harrison is another excellent option, about 20 minutes west, and is bookable through the Michigan DNR reservation system.
midnrreservations.com/When is the best time to visit Gladwin in an RV?
Late May through mid-September is prime time for an RV rental in Gladwin Michigan, with daytime highs typically in the upper 60s in May and climbing to the low 80s in July and August, plus cool 50-60 degree nights perfect for campfires along the Cedar River. June through August is peak (and busiest), so book early. September into early October is a local favorite: fewer mosquitoes, fall color along the Tittabawassee, and Gladwin City Park stays open into the fall. Winters here are genuinely cold with regular snow, but ice-fishing fans rent winterized rigs to camp near Wixom and Secord lakes. Filter for four-season RVs if that's your plan.
weather.gov/dtx/I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving in Gladwin?
Yes, Gladwin is one of the friendliest places in Michigan to learn. Roads like M-61, M-18, and US-10 are wide, lightly trafficked routes with gentle terrain, no mountain passes, no big-city tunnels, and very few low bridges. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, leveling, tanks, propane, and the awning so you're not guessing. If you'd rather not drive at all, choose the Delivery option and have the RV set up at your campsite before you arrive. Pro tip: do a short practice loop around quiet streets in Gladwin before pointing the rig toward Sugar Springs or Beaverton.
michigan.gov/mdotWhat happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my Gladwin trip?
Help is one phone call away. Every RVezy booking in Gladwin includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and tows, whether you're on M-61, deep in the Au Sable State Forest, or up near Houghton Lake. Your host is also a quick text away for questions like how to relight the water heater or reset a tripped breaker. If you need bigger help, RVezy's customer support team is reachable before, during, and after your trip. Full-service RV repair shops in Gladwin, Clare, and Midland are all under about 35 minutes away.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Gladwin RV rental to Canada or other states?
Cross-state travel is welcomed by most Gladwin hosts: you can take your rental into Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, or anywhere across the Lower 48 with a quick heads-up to your host. The Mackinac Bridge to the Upper Peninsula is about 3.5 hours north and totally fine for RVs. Crossing into Canada (Sault Ste. Marie is about 4.5 hours north, or Sarnia/Port Huron under 2.5 hours south) may be allowed depending on the host and the protection plan you select, so confirm in writing before booking. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan does not extend there.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in Gladwin?
Plan smart and fuel costs stay manageable. Class C motorhomes around Gladwin typically get 8-12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class A coaches hover around 7-10 MPG, campervans (Class B) get a roomy 15-20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (often 10-14 MPG combined). Regular gas in Gladwin County tends to track close to the Michigan state average, with convenient stations along M-61 in town and at the US-10/M-30 junction in Sanford. Pro tip: top off in Gladwin before heading north toward Houghton Lake or the Au Sable, prices can climb a bit in the more remote stretches near I-75.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Gladwin?
For Michigan state parks and state forest campgrounds (Wilson State Park, North Higgins Lake, and others), book through the Michigan DNR reservation system as early as possible for summer weekends, especially around July 4th and Labor Day. Reservations on the DNR system open up to 6 months in advance. Private parks like River Valley RV Park and Sugar Springs Campground can often be booked a couple of months out, and Gladwin City Park & Campground takes reservations through the city. Pro tip: midweek sites (Sunday through Wednesday) often have great last-minute openings, even in July, so you can grab a Gladwin RV trip on short notice if you're flexible.
midnrreservations.com/What are the driving conditions like around Gladwin?
Driving around Gladwin is refreshingly easy. The terrain is flat to gently rolling, the main routes (M-61, M-18, M-30, US-10) are well-maintained two- and four-lane highways, and traffic is light outside of summer Friday afternoons. Watch for white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk, especially on rural stretches between Gladwin and Beaverton, and slow down in spring frost-heave season when some county roads get bumpy until repairs catch up. Winter brings snow and ice from late November through March, so if you're winter camping near Secord or Wixom lakes, plan around plowing schedules. Otherwise, you're looking at some of the most relaxed RV driving in Michigan.
michigan.gov/mdotWhat amenities do Gladwin-area campgrounds offer (dump stations, water, hookups)?
Gladwin-area campgrounds are well-equipped for any RV. Gladwin City Park & Campground offers electric sites, restrooms with showers, potable water fills, and a dump station on-site. River Valley RV Park provides full hookups (water, electric, sewer) at most sites, plus laundry, a camp store, and Wi-Fi. Sugar Springs Campground has 30/50-amp electric and water. Nearby Michigan state forest campgrounds are more rustic (vault toilets, hand-pump water, no hookups) but typically have dump stations within a reasonable drive. Pro tip: if you're boondocking or staying rustic, the dump station at Gladwin City Park is the easiest place to empty tanks and refill fresh water before heading home.
michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/campingWhat's inside a typical RV rental in Gladwin (beds, kitchen, bathroom, Wi-Fi)?
Expect a real home-on-wheels. Most RVs on RVezy in Gladwin sleep 4-8 people across a queen bed, bunks, and convertible dinettes, with full kitchens (stove, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, sink, cookware), a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate-controlled AC and furnace heat, a TV, and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Many include a generator or solar setup for off-grid camping in nearby state forest campgrounds. Wi-Fi varies: some hosts include a mobile hotspot, while Verizon and AT&T LTE both perform well in downtown Gladwin and around Secord and Wixom lakes. Check each listing's amenities tab, or message the host directly to confirm what's included for your campervan rental Gladwin or motorhome stay.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gladwin%2C%20MichiganWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect when booking?
RVezy hosts in Gladwin commonly offer add-ons that make your trip easier: camp chairs and outdoor tables, bedding and linen packages, generator use, fishing gear, bike racks, kayak roof carriers, and pet packages. Mileage policies are set per listing, some offer unlimited mileage, others include 100-150 free miles per day with a small per-mile charge above that. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Gladwin, with delivery available to spots like Gladwin City Park, River Valley RV Park, or Wilson State Park for an added fee that scales with distance. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a linens package and you can essentially arrive empty-handed.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Gladwin%2C%20MichiganHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy's platform with a credit or debit card, never cash to the host, so everything is tracked and protected. A refundable security deposit is placed on hold before pickup (the amount depends on the RV and the listing) and is released back to you after the trip once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. To avoid any issues, do a quick walkaround video with your host at pickup and again at drop-off, follow the mileage and generator-hour rules in your listing, and return the rig with the same fuel and propane levels you received.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trip destinations from Gladwin by RV?
An RV road trip from Gladwin opens up the heart of Pure Michigan. Top picks: Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (about 3 hours northwest) for wine country and towering sand dunes; Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Bridge (about 3.5 hours north) for fudge, ferries, and Lake Huron sunsets; Houghton Lake (about an hour north) for Michigan's largest inland lake; Tahquamenon Falls in the Upper Peninsula (about 5.5 hours) for waterfalls and forest hikes; and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (around 6 hours) for jaw-dropping Lake Superior cliffs. Local insider tip: take M-18 north out of Gladwin instead of jumping straight onto I-75 for a more scenic drive through Beaverton and toward Houghton Lake.
