We’ve not rented a RV in the past. The entire experience of renting the Yankee Traveler with Stu far exceeded our expectations. The RV was clean, spacious, and included everything we needed to make the most of our weekend camping trip. Stu was very prompt and kind in his responses via the RVezy app and the delivery process was quick. We’ll definitely rent with Stu and the Yankee Traveler next go around.

We had a great experience using the Yankee Traveler! Lisa and Stu were the greatest hosts, had it all set up for us when we got there, we could just move in and enjoy. The trailer was very well equipped, and we enjoyed being out in the woods. We highly recommend renting from them, and will use it again.

What a relief! Air conditioning when it was so humid, heat to take away the morning chill, refuge from an all-day rain, a shelter from the Black Flies and a bed more comfortable than my own. Great experience!

Could not recommend Eric more to rent from. Super clean camper, MANY practical places for storage on board, amazing communication, and above and beyond helpful. We will be using again for our next camping trip! Don't think, just book it!

The camper is well taken care of, has everything you would need for a camping trip, and the host was really easy to communicate with and make time arrangements. We had it delivered and everything was very smooth and easy. We have two small boys who shared the oversized bottom bunk. This is a great RV for families, not too tight of quarters but still a very manageable towing size. I would definitely recommend this RV.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Grandville, MI

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Grandville, MI?

An RV rental in Grandville is one of the more affordable ways to explore West Michigan and the Lake Michigan shoreline. On RVezy, nightly rates generally range from about $95 for a compact campervan to $275 or more for a large Class A motorhome, with travel trailers and Class C motorhomes typically landing in the $135 to $215 range. You can lower the total by booking midweek, traveling in May or September shoulder season, and sorting listings by price. Many Grandville hosts offer multi-night discounts for 7-plus day bookings, so a week-long trip to Holland State Park or Silver Lake Sand Dunes often costs less per night than a long weekend.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Grandville, Michigan?

Good news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Grandville. Michigan does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any RV-specific endorsement to operate motorhomes or tow travel trailers that fall within standard non-commercial weight limits, which covers virtually every rig on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and your ID is verified securely through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit. That's it, you're ready to pick up the keys and start your Grandville RV trip.

Is RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included in Grandville?

Yes. Every RV rental in Grandville booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into your reservation. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV up to the plan's limits, giving you real financial peace of mind. That safety net makes it easy to say yes to your first motorhome rental in Grandville.

What happens if I need to cancel my Grandville RV rental?

Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform, not individual hosts, and every reservation includes a money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in dates with confidence. The refund amount depends on how far out you cancel and the booking circumstances. Full details are available in the RVezy Help Center and in your booking confirmation. If your plans shift, message RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Grandville?

Yes. A pet-friendly RV rental in Grandville is easy to find: toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the RVezy search page to see hosts who welcome four-legged guests. Many West Michigan hosts even provide dog beds, bowls, and lint rollers. On the road, your pup will love Millennium Park's leashed trails just minutes from Grandville, the dog beach at Kirk Park in Grand Haven, and the off-leash area at Hager Park in Jenison. Michigan state park campgrounds welcome leashed pets in most loops, including nearby Hoffmaster and Holland State Park. Message the host beforehand if you're bringing more than one pet so they can confirm everything is set.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Grandville?

Yes. RV delivery in Grandville is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a big rig through Rivertown Crossings traffic. Many local hosts will deliver to your driveway, a friend's house, or popular campgrounds like Woodchip Campground in Byron Center or Steamboat Park Campground in Jenison, then set up the slide-outs, level the rig, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. Just use the Delivery filter when searching. Delivery fees vary by distance, but for a stationary campout it's hands-down the easiest way to enjoy RV camping in Grandville without ever getting behind the wheel.

How does mileage work, and how far can I drive on a Grandville RV trip?

You've got plenty of range to play with. Hosts on RVezy set their own mileage policies, and many Grandville listings include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer road trips. Additional miles typically run $0.30 to $0.50 each. From Grandville you can easily reach Holland State Park (about 30 miles), Grand Haven (about 40 miles), Silver Lake Sand Dunes (about 80 miles), Traverse City (about 150 miles), and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (about 175 miles). If you're planning a longer RV road trip from Grandville up to the Upper Peninsula, filter for unlimited mileage listings to keep things simple.

Where are the best campgrounds near Grandville to stay?

You're spoiled for choice. Some of the best campgrounds near Grandville include Steamboat Park Campground in Jenison (just minutes away, with full hookups, a pool, and Grand River access), Woodchip Campground in Byron Center (family-friendly with a heated pool), and Grand Rapids East KOA Holiday in Bridgewater area (full hookups and family activities). For Lake Michigan beach access, Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon (about 40 miles west) offers forested sites and dune trails, and Holland State Park is a classic option for sunsets on the big lake. Steamboat Park books up fast for July and August weekends, so reserve as soon as your dates are set.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Grandville?

Late May through mid-October is prime time for RV camping in Grandville, and each stretch has its own personality. June through August brings warm days typically in the upper 70s to low 80s F, perfect for Lake Michigan beach days and Grand River paddling. September and early October deliver crisp 60 to 70 F afternoons, fewer mosquitoes, and spectacular fall color along M-37 and the Lake Michigan Circle Tour. Spring (late April to May) is quieter and less expensive but expect cool 50 to 65 F days and occasional showers. Winter brings freezing temps and lake-effect snow, so most campgrounds close from late October through April. Target the second week of October for peak foliage with mild driving weather.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Grandville?

You'll do great, and you won't be on your own. Every RVezy host provides a full pickup walkthrough covering driving tips, slide-outs, the propane system, water tanks, and dumping, so you leave knowing exactly how everything works. Grandville is an ideal launchpad for first time renting an RV because US-131, I-196, and M-6 are wide and well-maintained, far less stressful than urban freeways. If you're nervous, choose a smaller Class C motorhome or a campervan rental in Grandville for easier handling, or book delivery so a pro parks it for you. Practice a few right turns and a parking-lot pull-through before heading out, and you'll feel like a pro by the end of day one.

What if something goes wrong with the RV on my Grandville trip?

You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so if you get a flat tire on I-196, a dead battery at Yankee Springs Recreation Area, or run out of fuel on the way to Holland, one phone call gets help dispatched. For non-emergency questions like how to switch the fridge to propane, you can message your host directly from the RVezy app, and most respond quickly. RVezy support is also available before, during, and after your trip. Save the RVezy support number to your phone before pickup so you're never fumbling for it on the road.

Can I take my Grandville RV rental into Canada or other states?

Yes, with a quick heads-up to your host. Many Grandville hosts allow cross-border trips into Ontario (Canada is a few hours east via the Blue Water Bridge at Port Huron or the Ambassador Bridge at Detroit) as well as travel through Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Message the host from the listing page before booking to confirm and to make sure insurance coverage extends across the border. Bring your passport for Canadian trips. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance does not extend there. Popular cross-border routes include Grandville to Niagara Falls (about 400 miles) and Grandville to Stratford, Ontario for the festival season.
