2021 Prime Time Travel Trailer
Arthur’s RV was exactly as described! The process was flawless. Pick up was easy and the walkthrough was thorough for someone who used an RV once before almost a decade ago. The RV itself was clean, included everything you’ll need to go camping including extras. I’d definitely rent again from Arthur.

We have nothing but good things to say about our recent rental. The RV was loaded kitchen ware and has an outside fridge and table. Everything worked. The bed was very comfortable. This rental worked out perfectly.

2021 Forest River Class C
We had such a great experience renting Michael’s RV for one week in August. It was my first time ever renting an RV, so I was a little nervous and had lots of questions, but Michael was so patient, helpful and understanding from the very beginning. He explained everything in a very simple way and made me feel comfortable with how everything worked. I was actually surprised how easy the RV was to operate once he showed me. The RV was beautiful, very clean, well maintained and had pretty much everything we needed for the trip. It was really nice not having to worry about every little thing because so many useful items were already there for us. As a single mom, I was a little unsure at first about doing an RV trip like this, but Michael’s help and the RV itself made the whole experience so much easier and so much fun. We had an amazing time and made some really special memories. I’m very happy we chose Michael’s RV for our first experience and I would definitely recommend him, especially to anyone renting an RV for the first time. We will for sure be back next year!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Port Huron, MI
How much does an RV rental in Port Huron typically cost?
RV rental in Port Huron is more affordable than you might think, especially if you're flexible on dates. On RVezy, motorhomes in the Port Huron area average around $200 per night, while towable trailers run closer to $120 per night, and many hosts offer 10 to 20 percent off for weekly or monthly bookings. Shoulder-season trips in May, early June, or September often beat peak July prices by a noticeable margin. To find a cheap RV rental in Port Huron, use the price filter, sort by lowest price, and message hosts about midweek discounts. Pro tip: pair a Sunday-to-Thursday booking with a Lakeport State Park stay and you'll save on both the RV and the campsite.
michigan.org/property/lakeport-state-parkDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Port Huron, Michigan?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Port Huron for virtually every rig on RVezy. Michigan does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for motorhomes and travel trailers under 26,000 pounds, which covers Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels listed on the platform. RVezy approved renters are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and your identification is verified through the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto association before you fly. That is it. You are set to cruise the M-25 shoreline up Michigan's Thumb.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection comes with my Port Huron RV rental?
Every RV rental in Port Huron booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can focus on watching freighters glide under the Blue Water Bridge instead of worrying about what-ifs. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip, and the plan covers most physical damage to the RV during your rental. It is not traditional auto insurance, but it provides real financial peace of mind for renters. Hosts do not set the coverage level, you do, and roadside help is included. That means a flat tire on I-94, a dead battery at Lakeport State Park, or a tow back from Lexington can be handled with one phone call.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Port Huron RV trip?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation, not individual hosts, and there is a money-back grace period built in right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. If a Lake Huron storm rolls in or plans shift, the policy accounts for how far out you cancel. Because cancellations are handled by RVezy rather than each listing, the terms are consistent across every RV you browse in Port Huron, Lexington, or Marysville. If the host needs to cancel, RVezy will refund you or help you rebook. Pro tip: book early to secure the best Lakeport State Park weekends, then relax knowing the policy and 24/7 support have your back.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV rental in Port Huron?
Absolutely, plenty of hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental Port Huron options, and Michigan's Thumbcoast is a fantastic place to travel with a four-legged co-pilot. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see rigs that welcome dogs, sometimes for a small cleaning fee set by the host. Once you're here, Lakeport State Park allows leashed dogs throughout the campground and on most trails (though not on the swimming beach), and Fort Gratiot County Park has a dog beach area where pups can splash in Lake Huron. Pro tip: pack a towel for sandy paws after rock-hunting along the shoreline; Lakeport's beach is famous for smooth, water-tumbled stones.
michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/camping/petsCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Port Huron?
Yes, RV delivery Port Huron is one of the easiest ways to skip the learning curve, and many local hosts will deliver and set up your motorhome directly at Port Huron KOA Resort in Kimball, Lakeport State Park, or Jellystone Park North Port Huron. The host pulls in, levels the rig, connects water, sewer, and electric, walks you through every system, and hands you the keys (literally and figuratively). It's a great option if you're new to RVing or arriving by plane via Detroit Metropolitan Airport about 90 minutes south. Filter by Delivery on RVezy, message the host with your campground name, and ask about their delivery radius and fee.
michigan.gov/dnr/places/state-parks/lakeportHow far can I drive on a Port Huron RV trip, and what about mileage limits?
You'll have plenty of room to roam: most hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for longer Port Huron RV trips. From Port Huron, popular routes include Mackinac Island via I-75 (about 260 miles north), Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (about 280 miles northwest), Niagara Falls through Ontario (about 215 miles east), Traverse City wine country (about 235 miles), and the Tahquamenon Falls in the Upper Peninsula (about 350 miles). Check the mileage policy on each listing before booking, or filter for unlimited mileage upfront. Pro tip: if you're sticking to the Thumb loop along M-25, the standard mileage package is more than enough.
michigan.gov/mdot/travel/road-and-travelWhere are the best campgrounds near Port Huron for an RV?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Port Huron. Lakeport State Park, just 10 miles north on US-25, offers 250 sites split between two campgrounds with electric hookups, a rocky Lake Huron beach, and 50-amp service in the South Campground. Port Huron KOA Resort in Kimball has 260 RV sites, a pool, and full hookups about 5 miles west of downtown. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park North Port Huron features a waterpark and is a kid favorite. Dancing Fire RV Resort offers 25 acres of glamping-meets-RV vibes on Stocks Creek. For overnight stops, One Night RV right off I-94 is gated and convenient. Reserve Lakeport early through MiDNRReservations.com, it sells out for summer weekends.
michigan.gov/dnr/places/state-parks/lakeportWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Port Huron?
The sweet spot for RV rental Port Huron MI is June through September, when daytime highs sit between 72 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit and Lake Huron's water temperature peaks in the 70s during August. July is the warmest month and the busiest, so book six to eight weeks ahead for prime weekends. May and September are the locals' secret: fewer bugs, smaller crowds, fall color along the St. Clair River, and cheaper nightly rates. Winters are genuinely cold (January averages a high near 28 degrees) and most campgrounds close after Labor Day or mid-October, so plan motorhome rental Port Huron trips for the warm-season window. Pro tip: time your visit with Boat Week in mid-July for the Port Huron-to-Mackinac sailboat race.
weather.gov/dtx/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Port Huron?
You'll be in great shape, even if this is your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, water system, dump procedure, and driving tips, and they're a text away during your trip. Port Huron itself is forgiving: roads like M-25 hugging the Lake Huron shoreline are flat, well-marked, and largely two-lane country highway, perfect for getting comfortable behind the wheel. For extra confidence, choose a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan rental Port Huron from the platform, request delivery so your first drive is just from the campground out, and aim for a Sunday arrival when Lakeport State Park traffic is lightest.
michigan.gov/msp/divisions/traffic-safetyWhat if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?
You are covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat on I-69, a dead battery at Pine Grove Park, or a mechanical hiccup near the Blue Water Bridge can be resolved with one phone call. Your host is also reachable directly through the RVezy app for questions about the rig itself, like how to reset the inverter or restart the fridge on propane. For local backup, AAA Michigan and several Port Huron tow operators serve the entire Thumb region. Save the RVezy support number in your phone before pickup, snap photos of the rig at handover, and you are ready for anything Lake Huron weather throws at you.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Port Huron RV rental across the Blue Water Bridge into Canada?
Cross-border travel to Ontario is possible, but it depends on the specific host and insurance coverage, so always confirm with them in the message thread before booking. The Blue Water Bridge connecting Port Huron to Point Edward, Ontario is open 24/7 and RVs use the same lanes as cars, with a toll collected on each crossing. You'll need a valid passport or enhanced driver's license for every passenger, and you must declare all food, alcohol, and firearms to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Important: travel to Mexico is not allowed on any RVezy rental due to insurance limitations. Pro tip: cross mid-morning on a weekday to avoid the worst backups, and grab a duty-free fuel-up on the US side.
michigan.gov/mdot/programs/bridges-and-structures/blue-water-bridgeHow much will fuel cost on my Port Huron RV trip?
Budgeting fuel is easier than most people expect. Michigan's average gas price hovers in the mid-$3 range per gallon in Port Huron as of 2026, with the cheapest pumps typically at Sam's Club on 32nd Street and along Pine Grove Avenue. Class B campervans get 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and larger Class A rigs land around 6 to 10 MPG. For a 4-day Thumb loop covering roughly 250 miles, expect $75 to $130 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up before crossing into Canada (Ontario gas runs noticeably higher) and use the GasBuddy app to spot the lowest local price.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Port Huron?
For Michigan state parks like Lakeport, reservations open six months in advance through MiDNRReservations.com, and lakefront sites for July and August weekends often sell out within days of opening. Private parks like Port Huron KOA Resort and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park North Port Huron also fill fast for holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day), so aim to book 3 to 6 months ahead. Midweek and shoulder-season stays are far easier to grab last-minute. Pro tip: every Michigan state park requires a Recreation Passport for vehicle entry, which you can add during your reservation, making entry seamless on arrival.
midnrreservations.com/What are driving conditions like around Port Huron?
Port Huron is one of the more relaxed Michigan cities to drive an RV through. I-94 and I-69 converge here with wide lanes and predictable traffic, and the scenic M-25 shoreline route is flat two-lane road perfect for cruising. The main thing to watch is the Blue Water Bridge approach, where lanes narrow and clearance is 14 feet 8 inches, fine for any standard RV but worth knowing for taller toy haulers. Winter brings lake-effect snow from November through March, so most rentals operate May through October. Summer thunderstorms can pop up quickly off Lake Huron; check the National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac forecast before long drives. Pro tip: avoid the bridge during weekday rush hour, late morning crossings are smoothest.
michigan.gov/mdot/travel/mi-driveWhat amenities do Port Huron campgrounds offer for RVs?
Local campgrounds are well-equipped for everything from compact campervans to 40-foot fifth wheels. Lakeport State Park provides electric hookups at its sites plus a sanitation dump station and potable water fill stations, though individual water and sewer are not available at each site. Port Huron KOA Resort offers full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp), Wi-Fi, a pool, and a camp store. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park North Port Huron features full hookups plus a waterpark. Most campgrounds let paid guests use the dump station free; nonpaying visitors typically pay a small fee. Pro tip: fill your fresh-water tank at Lakeport's fill station before heading to your site, as there are no individual water spigots.
michigan.gov/dnr/places/state-parks/lakeportWhat's inside a typical RV rental in Port Huron?
You'll be impressed by how dialed-in these rigs are. A typical Class C motorhome rental Port Huron sleeps 4 to 7 people and includes a full kitchen (propane stove, microwave, fridge/freezer), wet bath with toilet and shower, queen bed, dinette and overhead bunk, roof air conditioning, furnace, generator or shore-power hookup, and seatbelted travel seats. Many hosts also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, and basic kitchen kit. Wi-Fi is less common in rentals but easy to handle with a phone hotspot, and Verizon and AT&T both have solid coverage along the Lake Huron shoreline. Use the RVezy listing photos and amenity icons to confirm exactly what's included, or message the host for specifics before you book.
fcc.gov/BroadbandData/MobileMaps/What add-ons and extras can I expect when renting an RV in Port Huron?
Hosts make it easy to customize your trip. Popular add-ons on Port Huron listings include linen and towel kits ($25 to $75), kitchen and cookware packages ($25 to $50), camp chairs and outdoor rugs, bikes, paddleboards (a hit for the St. Clair River), generator hours for boondocking, and pet cleaning fees if you're traveling with a dog. Pickup and dropoff are usually at the host's home in Port Huron, Marysville, or Fort Gratiot, with delivery available to local campgrounds for an extra fee based on distance. Mileage policies vary: many hosts include 100 free miles per night with $0.30 to $0.45 per mile after, while some offer unlimited mileage packages. Review each listing's pricing breakdown before booking, no surprises.
michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/campingHow does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Port Huron?
Payment is straightforward and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card at the time of booking. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) is handled separately from the booking payment and is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, not actually charged, and released after dropoff once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. Avoid issues by doing a thorough walkaround with the host at pickup and dropoff, snapping photos of any existing dings, and refilling fuel and propane to the levels you received. Pro tip: keep all communication inside the RVezy app so everything is documented in one place.
