RV & camper rentals in Zeeland, MI

RV rental in Zeeland is one of the most affordable ways to explore West Michigan's Lake Michigan shoreline. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes in the $175 to $275 range, and larger Class A rigs from $250 to $400+. Peak rates hit during Tulip Time in May and from late June through August. For a cheap RV rental in Zeeland, book mid-May or after Labor Day, when nightly rates often drop 20 to 30 percent and Holland's beaches are still gorgeous. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings to lock in your dates fast, especially around Tulip Time.

Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Zeeland. Michigan does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for motorhomes under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every RV on RVezy, including Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and most travel trailers. Approved renters on RVezy are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and your ID is verified through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license. Once that's done, you're cleared to roll out toward Lake Michigan.

Yes, every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can rent an RV in Zeeland with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damages to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout, not the host. It provides meaningful financial protection if the unexpected happens on your way to Holland State Park or Saugatuck. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers during booking and pick the one that best matches your route and confidence level, especially if it's your first time renting an RV.

You've got flexibility built right in. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and it includes a grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, plus additional protections tied to how far out your trip is and special circumstances. That means booking your motorhome rental in Zeeland early to lock in the best rigs is genuinely low-risk. Pro tip: book early for Tulip Time in early May, since the best pet-friendly and delivery-ready RVs in West Michigan disappear fast, and you'll still have flexibility if life shifts.

Yes, plenty of hosts welcome dogs, so finding a pet-friendly RV rental in Zeeland is easy on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when browsing listings and you'll see rigs ready for furry co-pilots. Once you've landed in West Michigan, your pup will love the leashed trails at Holland State Park, the boardwalk along Lake Macatawa, and the open beaches at Kirk Park in nearby Grand Haven County (off-leash beach sections allowed seasonally). Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees and ask about pet-friendly campgrounds nearby like Dutch Treat Camping, which has open grassy areas your dog will appreciate after the drive.

Many local hosts will drive the rig to Holland State Park, Dutch Treat Camping, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Hopkins, or even your driveway in Zeeland. They'll level it, hook it up to power and water, and walk you through every system before handing you the keys. Just filter listings by Delivery and enter your destination. Pro tip: delivery makes a campervan rental in Zeeland nearly stress-free, since you skip the towing logistics entirely and just show up ready to relax by Lake Michigan.

Closer to home, Saugatuck is a 25-minute drive and Grand Rapids is 30 minutes east. Most hosts offer generous daily mileage, and some even list an RV rental with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: confirm the mileage policy and per-mile overage rate in the listing before you book so you can plan your route confidently.

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping near Zeeland. The best campgrounds include Holland State Park (about 8 miles west) with its Lake Macatawa and Beach campgrounds, sugar sand beaches, and views of the Big Red lighthouse; Dutch Treat Camping & Recreation with full hookups and a pool; Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Hopkins, great for families; Drew's Country Camping near Hamilton; and Grand Haven State Park about 20 miles north right on Lake Michigan. Pro tip: book state park sites at MiDNRReservations.com up to 6 months ahead, especially for July and August weekends, when waterfront sites vanish within minutes of release.

The sweet spot for an RV trip to Zeeland is mid-May through late September, when highs run from the upper 60s into the low 80s and Lake Michigan is warm enough for swimming by July. Early May brings Tulip Time in nearby Holland (one of the largest tulip festivals in the U.S.), late June through August is prime beach season, and September delivers warm days, cool nights, and far fewer crowds. October offers stunning fall color along the lakeshore. Pro tip: shoulder season (mid-May and September) gives you the best mix of weather, availability, and pricing, plus less competition for those coveted Holland State Park sites.

Yes, winter RV rentals are available year-round in Zeeland, and West Michigan winters can be magical with lake-effect snow and frozen Lake Michigan dune views. Look for listings marked as four-season or with heated holding tanks, since the Holland/Zeeland area averages roughly 70 to 80 inches of snow per year and January lows dip into the teens. Many winter renters base near state game areas, Cannonsburg Ski Area (about 45 minutes east), or use the RV as a cozy basecamp at a private park with shore power. Pro tip: message the host to confirm winterization status and ask about extra propane, since heating consumption climbs fast below freezing.

You'll do great, and you're not alone, first time renting an RV is one of the most common scenarios on RVezy. Every host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, hookups, water, propane, and the dump valves, and you can message them anytime during your trip. Zeeland-area roads are forgiving for beginners: US-31, I-196, and the country roads through Ottawa County are flat, well-maintained, and wide. Many first-timers choose a Class C motorhome or campervan for easier handling. Pro tip: opt for delivery and setup at Holland State Park or your driveway, so your first time behind the wheel can be a short, low-pressure drive instead of a learning marathon.

You're covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so if you get a flat near Saugatuck, run into a battery issue at Holland State Park, or have a generator hiccup along US-31, help is just a phone call away. You can also reach RVezy's customer support team and message your host directly through the app for system-specific questions, they know their rig better than anyone. Pro tip: snap a few photos of the propane, water, and battery panels during your pickup walkthrough, so you can quickly describe what you're seeing if you need to call for help.

Yes, interstate travel is welcome on most RVezy rentals, so popular routes from Zeeland into Indiana Dunes National Park (about 90 minutes south), Chicago (2.5 hours), or Wisconsin's Door County (around 5 hours via the lakeshore loop) are totally doable. Canadian travel may be allowed depending on the host and insurance coverage, so just message before booking if you're eyeing Sarnia, Toronto, or a Niagara Falls loop. Heads up: travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan doesn't extend there. Pro tip: ask the host for written confirmation of cross-border travel in the message thread so everything is documented before you cross at the Blue Water Bridge.

Plan smart and fuel won't break the budget. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG) and Class A rigs run 6 to 10 MPG, while travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 MPG when towing). Michigan gas prices generally track close to the national average, and you'll find competitive pricing at Meijer and Costco stations in Holland and Grandville. For a 4-day loop covering Zeeland, Saugatuck, and Grand Haven (about 150 miles), expect roughly $80 to $150 in fuel. Pro tip: use a fuel pricing app along US-31 and avoid filling up right next to I-196 exits where prices often run higher.

Book early to score the gems. Holland State Park opens reservations up to 6 months in advance through MiDNRReservations.com, and Beach Campground sites with Lake Michigan views often sell out within minutes for summer weekends. Grand Haven State Park follows the same 6-month window. Private parks like Dutch Treat Camping and Drew's Country Camping typically take reservations 3 to 6 months ahead, with more flexibility midweek. For a family RV trip from Zeeland in July or August, aim to book by January or February. Pro tip: if you miss out, check MiDNRReservations.com daily, cancellations open up surprisingly often in the two weeks before a weekend.

Driving conditions around Zeeland are friendly for RVers. US-31 and I-196 are wide, flat, and well-maintained, the terrain is gently rolling rather than mountainous, and there are no significant grades to worry about. Summer brings heavier beach traffic on Ottawa Beach Road heading into Holland State Park, especially Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings. Watch for lake-effect rain showers blowing in fast off Lake Michigan and dense fog along the shoreline at dawn. Winter adds snow, ice, and the occasional whiteout, so most renters stick to May through October. Pro tip: leave for the beach before 10 a.m. on weekends, and you'll find an easy parking spot at the state park instead of circling.

You'll find a great mix of hookups and amenities. Holland State Park's Beach Campground offers full hookup sites with 30/50-amp electric, modern restrooms, showers, and a sanitation station; the Lake Macatawa unit offers additional sites with 30 or 50-amp electric. Dutch Treat Camping has full hookups, a pool, playground, and big-rig friendly sites. Most private parks near Zeeland include water, sewer, electric, Wi-Fi, and dump stations. If you're boondocking or staying somewhere without sewer, there's a public dump station at Holland State Park's Lake Macatawa unit. Pro tip: top up fresh water before leaving the campground, water spigots along the lakeshore route are limited once you're on the road.

Most RVs on RVezy come ready for adventure right out of the gate. Expect comfortable beds (queens are standard, with bunks or convertible dinettes for extra sleepers), a full kitchen with stove, fridge, sink, and microwave, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with both furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelts for everyone traveling. Many Class C and Class A rigs include generators, TVs, and outdoor speakers, and some campervans even feature solar setups perfect for off-grid stays near Saugatuck. Pro tip: each listing has a detailed amenities list, so filter by sleeps count and must-haves like generator, Wi-Fi booster, or outdoor shower before booking, especially for a family RV trip from Zeeland with kids.

You can customize your rig in lots of ways. Popular add-ons from RVezy hosts in Zeeland include kitchen kits, bedding packages, camping chairs and outdoor mats, bikes, kayaks or paddleboards (great for Lake Macatawa), portable grills, and generators for off-grid stays. Many hosts offer delivery and setup for a flat fee based on distance, plus tank pumping if you'd rather skip the dump station. Mileage policies vary by host, with many including 100 to 150 free miles per day. Pro tip: bundle add-ons and ask the host about a discount, especially for longer stays, many will waive a delivery fee for trips of 5 nights or more.

Payment is simple and transparent. When you book your RV rental in Zeeland, MI through RVezy, you pay securely through the platform, no cash exchanged with the host. A security deposit is held (not charged) on your card before your trip, and it's released back to you after the RV is returned in the same condition. Amounts vary by rig. Choosing a higher tier of the protection plan during checkout can reduce your out-of-pocket exposure if something happens. Pro tip: do a thorough video walkaround with the host at both pickup and dropoff, that documentation protects everyone and makes any deposit return question quick to resolve.
