"Story" was a great RV and Joshua was an amazing host. This was our first time traveling in an RV and Joshua was very patient in answering all of our questions. He provided a very thorough orientation. The RV was fully equipped with everything we needed including kitchen/bath items, camping chairs, linens, etc. Everything was clean, well maintained, and exactly as described. We were able to boondock without any issues. Communication with Joshua was amazing and I highly recommend this rental.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Brentwood, PA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Brentwood, PA?

RV rental in Brentwood, PA is more affordable than you might expect, with prices that fit most family travel budgets. Travel trailers typically rent for around $120 per night, while motorhomes near the Pittsburgh area average about $200 per night, and many hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly or monthly bookings. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Brentwood, PA?

Good news: your regular Pennsylvania Class C driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Brentwood for almost every motorhome and trailer on RVezy. PennDOT only requires a non-commercial Class B license if you're driving a single vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,000 pounds, and the vast majority of Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and travel trailers fall well under that limit. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and ID verification happens right through the RVezy platform. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set to roll.

What protection comes with my Brentwood RV rental?

The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV, giving you peace of mind without arranging separate coverage. During checkout you choose between different protection levels, so you can pick the option that fits your trip and your comfort zone (this is set by RVezy, not the host). What happens if I need to cancel my Brentwood RV rental?

Booking your Brentwood RV trip is low-risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy for every reservation on the platform. There is a money-back grace period right after booking, and additional protections may apply for major travel disruptions, which matters in western Pennsylvania where winter storms or summer flooding along the Monongahela can occasionally change plans. The exact refund depends on how far in advance you cancel and your trip dates, so review the current policy on the RVezy Help Center before confirming. Pro tip: book early to lock in your favorite rig, knowing you have clear cancellation terms if life changes course.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Brentwood, PA?

Late May through mid-October is prime time for RV camping in Brentwood, but the sweet spot is late September into mid-October when the Laurel Highlands light up with red and orange foliage and daytime temps sit in the comfortable 60s. I've never rented an RV before. Is renting in Brentwood beginner-friendly?

Brentwood is a fantastic place for your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water systems, dump valves, and propane so nothing is a mystery before you pull away. You can also message the host with questions before booking, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. If city driving makes you nervous, choose a Class B campervan or Class C motorhome for easier handling on Route 51 and the Liberty Tubes, or simply book a host who offers delivery and skip the drive entirely. Pro tip: do a short shakedown loop through South Park before heading out on your first big adventure.

Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before you leave Brentwood and snap a photo of your VIN at pickup so you can share it instantly if you need help.

Can I take my Brentwood RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, RV road trips from Brentwood often cross into nearby states, and most RVezy hosts welcome it. You can easily reach West Virginia in under an hour, Ohio in about 90 minutes, Maryland in two hours, and New York in about three hours. Cross-border travel into Canada (think Niagara Falls or Toronto) may be allowed depending on your specific host and the insurance terms, so message the host before booking to confirm and request written approval through the RVezy platform. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: ask the host to note approved travel states in your booking confirmation for total peace of mind.

What should I budget for fuel on a motorhome rental in Brentwood?

Fuel is the biggest variable cost on any motorhome rental in Brentwood, but it is easy to budget for. Pennsylvania gas prices typically run a bit above the national average due to state fuel taxes, so check current pump prices when planning. Class B campervans get around 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A motorhomes 7 to 10 MPG, while travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. For a weekend trip to Ohiopyle and back (about 150 miles total), expect to spend roughly $40 to $80 on fuel in a Class C. Pro tip: check current PA fuel prices on the EIA website and fill up in Brentwood or Bethel Park before heading south, where prices often beat the city core.

How far in advance should I book a campground for my Brentwood RV trip?

For the best campgrounds near Brentwood, book your campsite as soon as your RV rental is confirmed, especially for summer and fall weekends. Pennsylvania state parks like Raccoon Creek, Ohiopyle, and Moraine open reservations 11 months in advance through the official Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system, and popular waterfront sites can fill within hours for holiday weekends. Private campgrounds like Pittsburgh South/Washington KOA Holiday and Mountain Top Campground typically allow booking 6 to 12 months ahead. For last-minute trips, weeknights almost always have availability. Pro tip: if you can be flexible on dates, search Tuesday through Thursday arrivals in late September to score top sites with fall foliage and minimal crowds.

What are driving conditions like around Brentwood, PA?

Driving an RV around Brentwood is very manageable once you know the local quirks. Brentwood sits just off Route 51 with quick I-376 and Pennsylvania Turnpike access, so heading south toward the Laurel Highlands or west toward Ohio is straightforward. Avoid the Liberty Tubes and Fort Pitt Tunnel during weekday rush hours (7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM) since traffic backs up and tunnel height clearances (around 12 feet 4 inches) make tall rigs tight. Steeper grades start once you head east toward Ligonier, so drop into a lower gear on descents. Winter brings snow and salt from December through March. Pro tip: choose a Class B or C rig for easier handling on Pittsburgh's hilly, winding roads.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Brentwood?

Campgrounds near Brentwood offer a full range of amenities, so you can pick what matches your style. Private parks like Pittsburgh South/Washington KOA Holiday feature full hookups (water, sewer, 30 and 50-amp electric), Wi-Fi, pools, laundry, and camp stores. Pennsylvania state park campgrounds like Raccoon Creek and Ohiopyle offer electric sites with central water spigots, dump stations, hot showers, and flush toilets. Most regional campgrounds include on-site dump stations with your stay, and you can also find dump stations at travel centers along I-79. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the campground so you have plenty for travel days.

What equipment and features come with a typical Brentwood RV rental?

Your RV rental in Brentwood comes ready to camp, with most rigs including a fully stocked kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, cookware, dishes), a bathroom with shower and toilet, comfortable beds (ask the host to confirm linens), air conditioning, propane heat, and seatbelted seating for travel. Class C motorhomes from local hosts typically sleep 4 to 7 people, making them perfect for a family RV trip in Brentwood. Many include extras like a generator, outdoor awning, backup camera, and TV, and some offer Wi-Fi hotspots. Always check the listing's included items and ask the host about anything missing. Pro tip: request a starter kit with toilet paper, dish soap, and a sewer hose so you are set the moment you pull away.

What add-ons and pickup options are available for Brentwood RV rentals?

RVezy hosts in Brentwood offer a long list of add-ons that make your trip easier. Popular extras include camping chairs and outdoor tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, bike racks, generators with extra fuel hours, kayak racks, and tailgating packages perfect for Steelers and Pirates games. Pickup is usually at the host's location in or near Brentwood, but delivery to your home, campground, or even Pittsburgh International Airport is widely available for a mileage-based fee. Mileage policies vary by host, with many offering 100 to 150 free miles per day and unlimited mileage upgrades available. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen package on your first trip to skip every logistical headache.

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Brentwood?

Payment for your RV rental in Brentwood is simple and secure: you pay directly through RVezy with a credit card at booking, so there is no cash exchange with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately on your card before your trip, and the exact amount is listed on each rental page (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV's value). As long as you return the RV in the agreed condition with the correct fuel level and no damage beyond normal wear, your deposit is released after the trip. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos and a quick video of the interior and exterior at both pickup and dropoff so any deposit questions are resolved in seconds.
