The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. They provided an instruction checklist for hooking up everything. This was the first time our family has ever gone on a RV trip and setting up was very easy to understand thanks to their clear instructions. RV was stocked with everything we could possibly need. It was very clean and well maintained. The AC was very cold which was fantastic in the summer heat! We had a great week and made lifetime memories in this wonderful RV. We're already planning our next trip!

This was our family's first camping experience and thanks to Steve it was awesome. His camper was well equipped. The outside LEDs and Bluetooth connect radio were easy to use. Steve took the time to give me a whole run down of the operation. The RV towed very well. I can't say it enough- it was an easy experience and we had a blast. We will be renting from Steve again. Thank you so much!!!

Your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Hanahan. South Carolina does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes or trailers, even the big Class A rigs. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, peaking from mid-August through October, so watch the forecast and book through RVezy for added flexibility.

I've never rented an RV before. Is Hanahan a good place to start?

You're going to love it, this is one of the easiest regions in the country for a first-time RV renter. Flat terrain, well-maintained interstates (I-26 and I-526 ring the area), and dozens of full-hookup campgrounds within 30 miles mean you're never far from help or a level pad. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, showing you how to operate the generator, slide-outs, water system, and propane, and you can message them anytime during your trip. If you'd rather skip driving altogether, book a host who offers delivery to your campground. Start with a 3-night trip to Oak Plantation, you'll be a confident RVer by Sunday brunch in downtown Charleston.

Can I take my Hanahan RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Multi-state RV road trips from Hanahan are popular and easy to arrange. Travel throughout the continental United States is generally allowed, just confirm with the host on the listing page since some prefer to keep their RV within the Southeast. Cross-border travel into Canada may be possible with advance host approval and the right documentation, so message the host before booking to coordinate. What should I budget for fuel on a Hanahan RV trip?

Fuel is usually the second-biggest line item after the nightly rate, but it's predictable. Class B campervans get roughly 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A coaches sit around 6 to 10 MPG. Travel trailer fuel use depends on your tow vehicle. South Carolina has some of the lower gas prices in the country, so fill up before crossing into Georgia or North Carolina where it often costs more. For a 3-night trip staying within 100 miles of Hanahan, most renters spend roughly $80 to $180 on fuel. Gas stations along Rivers Avenue and Remount Road have RV-friendly pull-through pumps.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Hanahan?

Book early and you'll have your pick of the best sites. For spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) weekends, reserve 2 to 3 months ahead at popular spots like Mount Pleasant/Charleston KOA Holiday and Oak Plantation Campground. South Carolina State Parks like Givhans Ferry and Edisto Beach accept reservations up to 13 months in advance through the SouthCarolinaParks.com reservation system, and oceanfront sites at Edisto Beach State Park book out almost a year ahead for summer. Mid-week stays and winter dates are much easier to grab last-minute. If your dream campground is full, ask the RVezy host if they'll deliver to a nearby alternative, they often know hidden gems with availability.

What are driving conditions like around Hanahan and Charleston?

Driving in the Hanahan area is RV-friendly overall: flat coastal terrain, no mountain passes, and well-marked interstates (I-26 and I-526). Watch for two things: heavy weekday traffic on I-526 during morning and evening rush hours, and a few low-clearance spots in historic downtown Charleston where signed restrictions apply. The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge to Mount Pleasant is wide and easy to drive, even in a Class A. From June through October, sudden afternoon thunderstorms can roll in fast, pull over and wait them out. If you're nervous about city driving, park the RV at your campground and use rideshare or the CARTA shuttle to explore historic downtown.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston KOA, and Lake Aire RV Park all have on-site dump stations, potable water fill stations, Wi-Fi, laundry, hot showers, and propane refills. State park campgrounds like Givhans Ferry typically offer water and electric and may require a dump-station stop on the way out. Top off your fresh water tank before leaving the campground, dump your gray and black tanks at the on-site station, and avoid leaving hoses connected when you're away exploring downtown Charleston.
