Great experience with this team. They were very patient and answered our numerous questions quickly. This was our first experience with an RV and they made it very comfortable. The only thing that was a negative to me was the fact that they charge for gas to and from the location. I felt like this should have been taken from the delivery fee not charged on top of it. I also feel it should be disclosed prior to the RV being delivered.

Only problem we had was some little black ants - but I think that was as much to do with the rain as anything. Great communication and responsiveness. Would rent from them again if back in the area.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Inman, SC

How much does an RV rental in Inman cost, and how can I save?

RV rental in Inman is one of the most affordable ways to explore the South Carolina Upstate. On RVezy, nightly rates typically range from about $95 for a compact campervan to $275 for a fully equipped Class A, with travel trailers averaging $115 to $185 per night. To find a cheap RV rental in Inman, target weekday pickups, book 4 to 6 weeks ahead of peak fall foliage season, and consider towable trailers paired with host delivery so you skip fuel costs on a larger rig. Many Lake Bowen and Spartanburg-area hosts offer weekly discounts for stays of five nights or longer, which is ideal for exploring the Blue Ridge foothills.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Inman, SC?

Good news: for nearly every RV rental in Inman, SC, your regular driver's license is all you need. South Carolina only requires a special Class E or F non-commercial license if the RV's gross vehicle weight (GVW) exceeds 26,000 pounds, which is heavier than the vast majority of motorhomes and travel trailers listed on RVezy. You'll also need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the platform when you book, so there's nothing extra to bring to pickup. Visiting from out of state or abroad? Your home license works just fine, plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) if you're coming from a non-English-speaking country. Easy as that, you're ready to roll into the Upstate.

What if my plans change? Can I cancel my Inman RV rental?

You are within an easy day's drive of top Southeast destinations: Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway sit about 60 miles north up I-26, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is roughly 110 miles northwest, Charleston's beaches are about 215 miles southeast, and Charlotte is about 80 miles up I-85. Each RVezy host sets their own mileage policy, with many offering 100 to 150 free miles per day and some advertising RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is helpful for longer loops. Where are the best campgrounds near Inman?

The best campgrounds near Inman include Croft State Park in Spartanburg (RV sites with water and electric hookups, hot showers, and miles of trails about 20 minutes south), Pine Ridge Campground in Inman itself, and the Spartanburg/Gaffney KOA Holiday about 25 minutes east. For mountain views, Asheville East KOA is a scenic drive up I-26. Book Croft State Park well in advance through the official South Carolina State Parks reservation system because lakeside sites fill quickly during fall color season in October and early November.

When is the best time of year for RV camping in Inman?

You have options nearly year-round. Inman sits in a humid subtropical climate with mild winters, so RV camping in Inman is comfortable from March through early December. Spring (March to May) brings highs of 65 to 80 F and blooming dogwoods, fall (September to early November) is the local sweet spot with crisp 70 F days and brilliant foliage in the nearby Blue Ridge foothills, and summer brings hot, humid afternoons in the upper 80s to low 90s F with classic Carolina thunderstorms. Winter lows average in the low 30s F with rare snow, so heated rigs are comfortable. Aim for the second and third weeks of October to catch peak leaf-peeping along the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway (SC-11).

I've never driven an RV. Will I be okay renting one in Inman?

You will be in good hands. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering generator startup, slide-outs, leveling, tanks, and propane, and your booking includes 24/7 roadside support throughout the trip. Inman is an ideal place for first time renting an RV because the local roads are mostly flat to gently rolling, traffic outside I-85 is light, and campgrounds like Croft State Park have wide sites that are forgiving for new drivers. If city driving makes you nervous, request a campervan rental in Inman or pick a Class B that drives like a van. Do a short practice loop on Highway 9 before heading to your first campsite.

You are covered around the clock. Every RV rental in Inman booked through RVezy comes with 24/7 roadside assistance built into your booking, so whether you have a flat on I-26 near Campobello, a dead battery at Anchor Park, or a generator that will not start at Croft State Park, one phone call gets help dispatched. Your host is also just a message away in the RVezy app for quick troubleshooting on anything RV-specific, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Save the roadside assistance number in your phone before pickup so help is one tap away on your Inman RV trip.

Can I take my Inman RV rental across state lines?

Yes, most hosts allow you to take your motorhome rental in Inman across state lines, which opens up great routes: north to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, west to north Georgia's Tallulah Gorge, or northeast to coastal North Carolina. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance and protection do not extend there. Confirm the host's state-line policy in writing through the RVezy chat before you finalize your booking, then plot stops in Asheville (about 60 miles), Knoxville (about 180 miles), and Atlanta (about 185 miles) for an easy multi-state loop.

What should I budget for fuel on an Inman RV trip?

Fuel is easier to plan for than you might think. South Carolina gas prices typically run below the national average, with diesel slightly higher than regular. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 10 mpg, Class A motorhomes about 6 to 8 mpg, and a campervan rental in Inman often gets 16 to 20 mpg. For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget roughly $130 to $180 in fuel depending on current prices. Fuel up at the major stations along I-85 in Spartanburg before heading into the mountains, where prices climb noticeably once you cross into North Carolina near Saluda.
gasprices.aaa.com/?state=SC

How far ahead should I book a campground near Inman?

The earlier the better, but you have flexibility. South Carolina State Parks like Croft accept reservations up to 13 months in advance through the official reserve.southcarolinaparks.com system, and weekends from April through November book up fast, especially Memorial Day, July 4th, and the October leaf-peeping window. Private parks like Pine Ridge Campground and Spartanburg KOA usually have more last-minute openings. For an RV camping Inman trip in shoulder season (March or late November), 2 to 3 weeks ahead is often plenty. If Croft shows fully booked, check back often because cancellations open spots almost daily in this fast-growing Upstate region.

What are local driving conditions like around Inman?

Driving in and around Inman is refreshingly manageable. The town sits along Highway 9 with easy access to I-26 and I-85, both wide interstates that are RV-friendly. Local terrain is gently rolling Piedmont rather than steep mountain grades, although heading north into the Blue Ridge toward Saluda on I-26 involves a notable climb that calls for low gear and patience. Watch for summer afternoon thunderstorms (June to August) and occasional winter ice on bridges. Avoid I-85 through Greenville-Spartanburg during weekday rush hour (7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.) and your Inman RV trip will feel like a breeze.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Inman?

Campgrounds near Inman generally offer 30 and 50-amp electric hookups, potable water fill stations, and dump stations on site. Croft State Park has RV sites with water and electric service, hot showers, and a centrally located dump station. Pine Ridge Campground and Spartanburg/Gaffney KOA add Wi-Fi, pools, and full sewer at many sites. For free dump and water fill on the road, the Flying J in Gaffney (about 25 miles east) is a popular stop. Top off fresh water before leaving the campground and empty grey and black tanks at the dump station on the way out, especially if you plan to boondock near Lake Bowen.

What features and amenities come in an Inman RV rental?

Most RVs available to rent in Inman come well equipped: a queen or king bed, full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet, roof A/C (essential for hot July afternoons), a furnace for cool mountain nights, and seatbelts for every traveler. Larger Class A and Class C models often add a TV, outdoor speakers, an awning with LED lighting, and a generator for off-grid stays at Lake Bowen. Cellular coverage can be spotty in the Blue Ridge foothills, so some hosts include boosters. In your RVezy listing search, sort by Sleeps count and check the amenity icons to match the rig to your family's must-haves.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Inman%2C%20South%20Carolina

What popular add-ons and pickup options should I expect?

Hosts make it easy to customize. Common add-ons for an RV rental in Inman include linen and towel packages ($25 to $50), kitchen kits with pots and dishes ($25 to $40), generators or extra propane, bike racks, kayaks, outdoor grills, and pet packages. Mileage policies typically run 100 to 150 free miles per day with overage fees of $0.30 to $0.45 per mile, though some hosts offer unlimited mileage for road-trippers. Pickup is usually at the host's location in or near Inman, but many hosts deliver to Croft State Park, Lake Bowen, or even Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), about 25 minutes south. Bundle delivery, setup, and a linen kit for a turn-key family RV trip in Inman, especially if you are flying in.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Inman%2C%20South%20Carolina

How does payment and the security deposit work?

When you book your RV rental in Inman through RVezy, payment is processed securely through the platform with a credit or debit card, so you never hand cash to the host. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) is held on your card around pickup and released after drop-off, provided the RV is returned in the same condition. Do a thorough walkaround at pickup, take date-stamped photos and video of the exterior, interior, and odometer, and message the host through the app if you spot any existing damage. Keep receipts for any fuel or propane fill-ups, your security deposit comes back faster when documentation is clear.

What's a fun insider tip for an Inman RV trip?

Here is the local secret: while most travelers head straight to Asheville or the Smokies, savvy RVers base in Inman and use Lake Bowen as a quiet home camp. The lake is managed by Spartanburg Water, and Anchor Park on Highway 9 has boat ramps, fishing piers, and a playground (a Lake Bowen watercraft permit is required if you bring a kayak or paddleboard). From there, you are about 20 minutes from downtown Spartanburg's craft breweries, 35 minutes to Greenville's Falls Park on the Reedy, and roughly an hour to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cap one evening at a lakeside restaurant, then return to your RV for s'mores by the campfire.
