I cannot say enough good things about my rental experience with Jose! From the very beginning, he was incredibly easy to work with and made the entire process completely stress-free.I had the RV delivered directly to the campground, and Jose took "ready to enjoy" to a whole new level. I watched him quickly set everything up, and he didn't just hook up the utilities—he completely curated the outdoor space right in front of me. He set out the outdoor rug, chairs, and table perfectly so it was ready to go. All I literally had to do was walk in with my bags and start relaxing. The RV itself was pristine and fully loaded—there was absolutely nothing missing or that I needed to bring myself. Plus, having three TVs was an amazing, luxury touch! While it was just me on this trip, this spacious and thoughtful setup would be absolutely perfect for families. If you want a seamless, premium, and hospitable RV rental, look no further than Jose. I will definitely be renting from him again!

We had an amazing experience renting from Dakota! The RV was delivered early, which was a great surprise and really got us excited for the trip. When Dakota couldn’t make the delivery himself, he sent Aaron, who did an awesome job with setup and made everything easy. Both were professional and great to work with. I would definitely recommend renting from Dakota or Aaron! I will using them again in the future for sure.

The trailer was delivered on time and set up great. It was just like the pictures and Michael was very responsive with questions. A few things for the next renter, there is a Keurig so don’t forget the K cups, and if you get cold, bring an extra blanket. There were plenty of sheets but I didn’t notice any extra blankets. Great trailer and really nice renter 😊.

What are local driving conditions like around Lake Dunlap?

Driving around Lake Dunlap is refreshingly easy for an RV, the area sits in the rolling Hill Country with flat-to-gentle terrain, paved roads, and minimal traffic outside of weekend tubing crowds in Gruene. Watch for FM 725 and SH 46, which have a few low-clearance railroad underpasses (all 13'6" or higher, so standard RVs clear fine). IH-35 between San Antonio and Austin runs right past Lake Dunlap and gets congested weekday rush hours, plan pickup or returns midmorning. Spring brings thunderstorms and occasional flash flooding along the Guadalupe, never drive through water on low-water crossings. Pro tip: take Highway 46 instead of IH-35 for a scenic, low-stress drive between Boerne and New Braunfels.

Most Lake Dunlap-area campgrounds are full-service and modern. Lake Dunlap RV Park, Lakeside RV Park, and River Ranch offer full hookups (30 and 50-amp electric, fresh water, sewer at your site), hot showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and dump stations. Canyon Lake's Corps of Engineers parks like Cranes Mill and Potters Creek have water and electric at most sites with central dump stations and boat ramps. Guadalupe River State Park has water/electric sites and a dump station but no sewer hookups, plan a dump-station stop on your way out. The closest propane refills are at Tractor Supply in Seguin and several stations along IH-35. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving any private park because state park spigots can be busy on weekends.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book a Lake Dunlap RV, you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which keeps your protection plan and roadside assistance active. The host sets a refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV class) that's pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after return, assuming no damage and the RV comes back in the same condition. The security deposit is handled separately from your booking payment. Document everything during the walkthrough with photos and video to avoid disputes. Pro tip: return the RV with a clean interior, empty tanks, and a full fuel tank to ensure a smooth deposit release, your host will appreciate it and you'll be set up for a glowing review.

Historic Gruene is 15 minutes away with Gruene Hall (Texas's oldest dance hall) and family-friendly riverside dining. San Antonio's River Walk, the Alamo, SeaWorld, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are a 35-minute drive south. Kids will love the restored Lake Dunlap itself, now reopened after the 2019 dam failure and 2023 repair, for swimming, fishing, and pontoon rentals. Pro tip: book a rental with bunk beds and an outdoor TV, then plan a tubing day on the Comal River, the easiest float for younger kids.
