RV & camper rentals in Beckley, WV

An RV rental in Beckley is one of the most affordable ways to explore New River Gorge country. On RVezy you'll generally see travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from roughly $160 to $250, and larger Class A coaches from $250 and up. Because hosts set their own pricing, you can find a cheap RV rental in Beckley by booking midweek, traveling in April or late October, and staying multiple nights to unlock weekly discounts. Pro tip: browse a few Raleigh County listings side by side and message hosts directly through RVezy to ask about shoulder-season rates before you book.

Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Beckley. West Virginia does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, travel trailers, or campervans you'd find on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old with a valid license, and RVezy will verify your ID digitally during checkout. Visiting from outside the US? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association along with your home license. Once that's done, you're cleared to pick up your motorhome rental in Beckley and head straight for the New River Gorge Bridge.

You're covered from the moment you book. Every RV rental in Beckley, WV through RVezy automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can focus on Sandstone Falls instead of paperwork. During checkout, you'll choose between several protection plan tiers based on the level of coverage you want, and the plan you select helps cover physical damage to the RV during your trip. Hosts don't pick your coverage level, you do, so review the options and pick the one that best fits your trip and budget for your motorhome rental Beckley adventure.

Plans change, and RVezy is built to handle it. Cancellation policies are set by RVezy (not by individual hosts), and every booking includes a grace-period window after you confirm where you can cancel for a full refund. After that, refund amounts depend on how far out you are from your trip start date. If a host has to cancel, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credits so your plans stay on track. West Virginia's mountain weather can shift fast in winter and spring, so RVezy's support team is available around the clock to help if conditions affect your travel. Book your RV rental in Beckley with confidence knowing flexibility is built in.

Absolutely, four-legged co-pilots are welcome. On RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter to see every pet-friendly RV rental in Beckley, then message the host with your pup's size and breed to confirm. Beckley is genuinely dog country: leashed dogs are allowed on most trails in New River Gorge National Park & Preserve, including the popular Long Point Trail to the bridge overlook, and Lake Stephens, Little Beaver State Park, and Babcock State Park all welcome leashed pets at campsites. Pack a tie-out, extra water bowls for the humid Appalachian summers, and a towel for muddy paws after a river hike. Pro tip: book a host who provides a pet fee bundled into the listing for the smoothest stay.

Yes, and it's a game-changer for first-timers. Many Beckley hosts offer RV delivery directly to popular spots like Lake Stephens Campground, Little Beaver State Park, Babcock State Park, or even your driveway in Raleigh County. They'll level the rig, hook up water and electric, walk you through every system, and pick it up at the end of your trip, so you never have to back a 30-footer through a mountain switchback. To find delivery options, use the Delivery filter on RVezy and check each listing's delivery radius and per-mile fee. This is hands-down the easiest way to enjoy an RV camping Beckley experience without ever touching the steering wheel.

You've got plenty of road ahead of you. Most Beckley hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some advertise an RV rental with unlimited mileage for road-trippers, just filter for it on RVezy. Additional miles typically run 30 to 50 cents each, which is easy to budget for. From Beckley you're only about 12 miles to Grandview Overlook, 20 miles to the New River Gorge Bridge, 50 miles north to Summersville Lake, 65 miles east to Lewisburg and the Greenbrier, and roughly 90 miles northwest to Charleston. Map your stops before you book so you can pick the mileage package that matches your route and avoid surprise overages.

You're spoiled for choice. Lake Stephens Campground, just minutes from downtown Beckley, has full hookups, a beach, and a lively community feel. Little Beaver State Park, right off Interstate 64, offers 30 sites with water and electric plus a dump station. Babcock State Park, about 25 miles north, is famous for the Glade Creek Grist Mill and has electric sites with water fill stations. For New River Gorge access, Rifrafters Campground and Wood Mountain Campground in Glen Jean both have full hookups within minutes of the bridge. Pro tip: West Virginia State Parks accept reservations online through wvstateparks.com up to 13 months ahead, and summer weekends sell out fast.

Beckley shines from late April through October, with peak conditions in June, September, and the famous Bridge Day weekend on the third Saturday of October. Summer highs sit in the comfortable 75 to 82°F range thanks to Beckley's 2,400-foot elevation, much cooler than the lowland South. Fall foliage typically peaks between mid-October and early November, painting the gorge in fiery reds and golds. Winters are short but genuinely cold, with January lows around 24°F and an average 8 to 9 inches of January snow, so winter rentals are best for experienced cold-weather campers in four-season rigs. For the easiest RV camping Beckley experience, aim for May, September, or early October.

First time renting an RV? You're in great hands. Every RVezy host gives you a personal walkthrough at pickup covering propane, slide-outs, water systems, leveling, the awning, and the dump valves, so you leave with confidence, not a manual. Many Beckley hosts go further by sending a pre-trip video, a printed cheat sheet, and their personal phone number for the whole trip. If you're nervous about mountain driving, choose a smaller Class B campervan or travel trailer under 25 feet, or simply book a host who delivers the RV to your campground. The two-lane stretch of Highway 19 between Beckley and Fayetteville is wide and big-rig friendly, perfect for breaking in your driving legs.

You'll never be stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing if needed. Beckley sits right at the crossroads of Interstate 77, Interstate 64, and US Route 19, so help is usually a quick call away even on remote stretches near the New River Gorge. For mechanical questions, your host is your first point of contact through the RVezy app, and the RVezy support team is on standby around the clock. Pro tip: snap a photo of the propane tank and slide-out controls during your walkthrough so you can troubleshoot small hiccups in minutes.

Beckley is one of the best launching pads for an RV road trip from Beckley into Appalachia. Head 20 miles north on US 19 for the New River Gorge Bridge and Fayetteville, continue 50 miles to Summersville Lake for crystal-blue swimming, or detour to Babcock State Park's iconic grist mill (25 miles). For a longer loop, drive 65 miles east on I-64 to Lewisburg and the Greenbrier, or about 100 miles south to Pinnacle Rock and the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. Cross-border trips into Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania are typically fine, just confirm with your host before booking. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on any RVezy rental.

Fuel is a smaller bite than most people expect. Travel trailers towed by a pickup average 10 to 14 miles per gallon (mpg), Class C motorhomes return 8 to 12 mpg, and large Class A coaches dip to 6 to 9 mpg. West Virginia regularly has some of the lowest gas prices in the Northeast, often a few cents below the national average, and you'll find affordable stations along US 19, I-77, and I-64 around Beckley. For a typical 3-night, 200-mile loop through New River Gorge in a Class C, plan on roughly $80 to $120 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Beckley before heading deep into the gorge, as stations thin out near Fayetteville and Hinton.

Earlier is better, especially in peak season. West Virginia State Parks like Babcock, Little Beaver, and Pipestem accept reservations up to 13 months in advance through wvstateparks.com, and summer weekends plus Bridge Day in October sell out months ahead. National Park Service campgrounds inside New River Gorge (Army Camp, Stone Cliff, Grandview Sandbar, Glade Creek, Meadow Creek) are 100 percent first-come, first-served and free, so arrive Thursday afternoon for the best shot. Private parks like Rifrafters, Wood Mountain, and ACE Adventure Resort take reservations online and typically need 2 to 4 weeks of lead time in summer. Pro tip: book your RV on RVezy first, then lock in the campground the same day.

Beckley driving is mostly easygoing if you respect the terrain. The city sits at 2,421 feet in the Appalachians, with I-64, I-77, and US 19 providing wide, well-maintained four-lane access in and out, so even a 32-foot Class C handles them comfortably. The famous US 19 corridor to the New River Gorge Bridge is a divided highway, no white-knuckle moments. Avoid narrow shortcuts like the Mossy exit and State Route 612, which can be tight for big rigs. In winter, watch for black ice on shaded mountain curves, and check WV511 for road conditions before you roll. Take it slow on grades, use lower gears descending, and you'll enjoy the scenery, not stress about it.

You'll find a great mix. Private parks like Rifrafters, Wood Mountain, Brushcreek Falls RV Park, and Lake Stephens offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric), bathhouses, laundry, and Wi-Fi. State parks like Little Beaver and Babcock provide electric and water sites with dump stations and shower houses. Inside New River Gorge National Park, all eight campgrounds are primitive with picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets, but no potable water, so fill your fresh tank in Beckley before heading in. Dump stations are easy to find at Little Beaver, Lake Stephens, and most KOA-style parks. Pro tip: bring a 50-to-30-amp adapter and at least 25 feet of fresh-water hose for older state-park sites.

You'll feel right at home. Most RVs listed in Beckley come fully equipped with sleeping for 4 to 8, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink, cookware), a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with furnace and air conditioning (AC), and seatbelts for every traveling passenger. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, and a power awning, and a growing number of Beckley campervan rental and motorhome listings now offer Wi-Fi hotspots, solar panels, and onboard generators (handy for boondocking inside New River Gorge). Each listing on RVezy shows a full amenities list with photos, so you'll know exactly what's onboard. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps to match your group size precisely.

Beckley hosts make it easy to customize. Popular add-ons include camp chairs and tables, propane fire pits (perfect for cool New River nights), bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, kayaks for paddling Summersville Lake, and pet packages. Fees vary by host but are clearly listed on each RVezy listing before you book. For pickup and dropoff, you'll typically meet at the host's home in Raleigh, Fayette, or Mercer County, or arrange delivery to your campsite at New River Gorge. Round-trip rentals are standard, but for a one-way RV road trip from Beckley to a destination like Charleston or Lexington, message the host directly through the listing to see what's possible.

Payments through RVezy are simple and secure. You'll pay your trip total online by credit card when you book, with no cash or wire transfers to hosts. A refundable security deposit is handled separately from your booking payment and is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, then released after a smooth return once the host confirms the RV came back in good condition. To avoid any deposit issues on your Beckley RV trip, do a thorough walkthrough video at pickup, return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, empty the gray and black tanks at a dump station like Little Beaver State Park, and report any issue to your host through the RVezy app right away.

Yes, and a winter rent an RV in Beckley adventure is genuinely magical, think snowy gorge overlooks at Grandview and skiing at Winterplace Resort just 15 miles south. Beckley winters are short but cold, with January averaging 24 to 37°F and roughly 8 inches of snow in the snowiest months. Look for listings on RVezy that mention four-season insulation, heated holding tanks, an onboard furnace, and 30-amp shore power so you can plug in at year-round campgrounds like Eagles Nest in Glen Jean or Pipestem Camping. Pro tip: ask your host about an electric heated water hose and skirting kit, and plan to keep the furnace running on low overnight to prevent frozen lines.
