RV & camper rentals in Milton, WV

RV rental in Milton is one of the most affordable ways to explore West Virginia, with most travel trailers starting around $75 to $125 per night and Class C motorhomes typically running $150 to $250 per night on RVezy. Because Milton sits on the I-64 corridor between Huntington and Charleston, hosts here tend to price below big-city averages, making it a great pick for a cheap RV rental in Milton. To save more, book midweek, travel in May or September instead of peak summer, and filter for Instant Book. Pro tip: stays of 5 or more nights often unlock weekly discounts hosts set themselves.

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Milton for any motorhome or trailer under 26,000 pounds, which covers essentially every rig on RVezy. West Virginia does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal RV use. You just need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so there's no extra DMV trip. Visiting from another country? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club before you fly in. Most first-time renters are pleasantly surprised at how simple the paperwork really is.

Every RV rental in Milton booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Route 60 with confidence. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle and provides real financial peace of mind. During checkout you choose from different protection tiers based on the coverage level you want, the host does not decide for you. Roadside help is one phone call away whether you have a flat near Beech Fork State Park or need a jump start at the KOA. You are supported from pickup to drop-off.

Booking an RV rental in Milton is low-risk because RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, and every reservation includes a grace-period window where you can cancel for a full refund shortly after booking. Beyond that, refund amounts depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. If your host cancels, RVezy refunds you or provides credits so you are not left stranded. Because the policy is handled at the platform level, you will not see different policies on different listings. Pro tip: book early to lock in your favorite rig, knowing flexibility is built in.

Just filter for Delivery on RVezy and check each listing for the delivery radius and per-mile fee. Pro tip: delivery is especially smart for the WV Pumpkin Festival in October when parking gets tight, your host handles the tricky setup so you can walk straight into the fun.

First time renting an RV? Choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for the easiest learning curve, and consider delivery so the host parks and sets it up for you. Pro tip: practice a few right turns in a big parking lot like the Huntington Mall in nearby Barboursville before heading out.

You are never on your own. Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, so it helps to plan ahead. Most Class C motorhomes around Milton get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, travel trailers towed by a truck average 10 to 14 MPG, and campervans can hit 16 to 20 MPG. West Virginia gas prices tend to run slightly below the national average, and there are convenient fill-ups right off I-64 at the Milton (Exit 28) and Barboursville (Exit 20) exits. For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget roughly $100 to $140 in fuel. Pro tip: top off at Sheetz or Speedway in Barboursville before heading east, prices climb noticeably once you get into the mountains toward New River Gorge.

For peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day, plus the WV Pumpkin Festival weekend in early October), book campgrounds 3 to 6 months ahead. Driving around Milton is straightforward for an RV: Interstate 64 runs right through town with two lanes in each direction, gentle grades, and good signage. US Route 60 is the main local artery and handles big rigs easily. Once you head east toward Charleston or south toward New River Gorge, expect curvier mountain roads with some 6 to 7 percent grades, take it slow and use lower gears on descents. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, especially on rural stretches near Beech Fork. Winter occasionally brings ice on bridges. Pro tip: avoid the narrow back roads through Cabell County hollows in a Class A or large fifth wheel, stick to I-64, US-60, and state highways for an easy, low-stress drive.

Campgrounds near Milton range from full-resort to rustic, so there is something for every style. The Huntington/Fox Fire KOA and Jim's RV Park offer full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, hot showers, and an on-site dump station. Beech Fork State Park provides electric and water at most sites with a centralized dump station and bathhouses. Common extras include camp chairs and outdoor tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits with pots, plates, and utensils, generators, bike racks, kayaks, and propane fire pits. Pickup is usually at the host's location in or near Milton, with delivery available to local campgrounds for a per-mile fee. Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment and is released back to your card after the trip wraps up clean and damage-free. The deposit is an authorization hold and is not charged unless there is an issue. To avoid any deposit hiccups, do a thorough walkthrough at pickup with photos, return the RV with the same fuel level and tanks emptied as agreed, and communicate any small issues through the RVezy app right away. Pro tip: book at least a week ahead so the hold posts and clears smoothly before your trip starts.
