Campgrounds and RV parks near Burbank, CA

Burbank itself sits within easy reach of Santana Row, Westfield Valley Fair, and downtown San Jose, so day trips often combine shopping, dining, and tech-corridor sightseeing with outdoor stops. RVers staying at Coyote Valley RV Resort in Morgan Hill can use the adjacent 20-mile Coyote Creek hiking and biking path or visit nearby wineries and golf courses. Trailer Villa RV Park puts travelers close to the Peninsula and the Bay. Portola Redwoods State Park offers about 18 miles of trails through old-growth coast redwoods, with connections to Pescadero Creek and Memorial County Parks. Santa Cruz Ranch RV Resort and Redwood Resort RV Park and Campground sit in the Santa Cruz Mountains, within reach of Henry Cowell Redwoods, Big Basin, and the Santa Cruz beachfront.

The South Bay has a Mediterranean climate, so the camping calendar splits cleanly between a wet, mild winter and a long dry season from late spring through early fall. Private RV parks such as Coyote Valley RV Resort, Trailer Villa RV Park, Santa Cruz Ranch RV Resort, and Redwood Resort RV Park and Campground operate year round, though winter storms can bring heavy rain and occasional flooding along creek-adjacent sites. Portola Redwoods State Park follows a seasonal schedule and is generally open from April through October, with the campground closing in the wet months when access roads and water supply become unreliable. Late spring through early fall is the peak demand window across the region, with summer weekends and holiday periods filling earliest at the Bay Area private resorts. Wildfire smoke from inland or coastal range fires can affect air quality during late summer and fall, and red flag warnings sometimes trigger campfire bans at state and county parks.

Expectations vary widely between the two main styles of campground in the area. The private RV resorts lean toward paved or graveled pull-throughs and back-ins with 30 and 50 amp electric, water, and sewer hookups, modern restrooms and showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, and on-site amenities such as pools, dog parks, and recreation rooms. Coyote Valley RV Resort, for example, accommodates large rigs up to 60 feet and has a heated pool, dump station, and propane service. Portola Redwoods State Park is the opposite experience: shaded sites under coast redwoods, flush toilets, drinking water, and pay showers, but no hookups, no cell reception, and limited supplies, with the nearest gas and groceries about 9 to 14 miles away in La Honda or Sky Londa.
